  1. Guide for Installing OS X Yosemite on Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p - Installation Guides - InsanelyMac Forum <- I used this guide. Works great. Except NVidia card, 4k output, internal wireless.
  2. Considering it only works with SLI disabled and using Intel graphics, I'd guess it's pretty good. However, I don't use mine in battery mode, ever.
  3. I read every page of this post, and remember something like that. However, I also remember it wasn't definitive and/or the poster never returned to confirm if my memory serves me right. I won't take the chance unless someone confirms directly a method for BIOS reset or I have the time to pull apart the machine and find out for myself.
  4. Details? How do you disable in modded BIOS?
  5. Why would you want to disable the Ultraybay graphics? To enable the Intel? So you can boot OS X? Hmm, I might be game. Anyone know how to reset the BIOS settings in case this fucks up? I don't really care if I have to cut, solder, or buy a programmer (up to maybe $50? I mean, how much is this knowledge really worth) and overwrite the BIOS settings that way. I mean, I depend on this machine, but it can be out of commission for a few days.
  6. @svl7: I noticed you have an M15x laptop. I have a bunch of spare parts from my old one that I lost a while back. Would you like them? I think I have the dual core 2.66GHz CPU, 8GB of RAM, Geforce 260M, and maybe even a BluRay reader/DVD writer I can send your way just to say thanks for getting this BIOS hacked. Let me know if you're interested.
  7. I am experimenting with it now. I was able to install using Niresh Mavericks 10.9 with default settings. You need to be in Legacy Mode Support to boot, and I still boot from my install key currently. Once it's installed, I have to pop out my 2nd NVidia card in order to boot. I still have to boot in safe mode (-x) in order to get online. I am continuing to experiment with it. I would like to get a good install going where I don't have to remove the 2nd GPU in order to boot. I am going to try to get around it via the unlocked BIOS. Hope that helps. Anthony Malczanek
