  1. Ok thats good news. So Next step? Get rid of that riser and enjoy your egpu
  2. Im glad i read that you manage to get it work (in FricoRicos Post ) . What psu did you use?.Your RX480 it is factory overclocked and it draw way more power than 150 watts. Did you try to under-volt it and see if it solve stability issues?
  3. Hello beonoz Just a thought . Maybe there is power issue. Under Windows try to undervolt the Rx480 and see if the freezes continues.
  4. Hello FricoRico and goalque Im going to build an egpu (akitio thunder2 + rx480 + dell 220w ps) for my late 2011 imac (i5 2400s) My imac has the thunderbolt1 port and discrete gpu 6750M .I believe thunderbolt 1 will be good enough because rx480 performs well in low bandwidth. I saw scores from EXP GDC setup and if that scores are true the performance is around 85% of desktop performance. Just a silly question because im lost in this part. Did you manage to get internal screen to work or only works on extrenal display? I will use under windows 10 + sierra when apple officially release it. Thanks
  5. I will do that steps but My thought is if HD2000 is supported with optimus switching gpu
  6. hello Is this possible also with HD2000? if i can enable intel HD 2000 maybe i can run eGPU (GTX970) in imac's internal monitor/ All i need is to disable amd 6750m and enable intel HD 2000 for optimus . Thanks Mike
  7. Thanks for your reply, my imac under windows has iGPU, The intel HD 2000. On osx intel hd2000 it is not suppoorted. So that is the reason i believe external gpu may be possible in internal monitor.
  8. Please i cant find any information for imac, only for rmbp. Do i have to drob this project or is possible?
  9. Dear all Im somehow lost but i start to figure out what happening. I have 2011 imac i5 2400s and amd 6750m and TB 1 . Is possible the egpu thru TB? Do i need external monitor or i can use imac's internal monitor? im planning to build GTX970 egpu but i had to know if is possible for my imac. Thanks Edit: The egpu is for bootcamp and windows 8.1 only, i dont plan to have egpu on OSX Sorry for my english
