  1. What are your guy's results with undervolting , I have a sager with gtx 970m? I still can't download because I'm under the post limit, but I'm exited to try this, I get some fps issues when playing heavily modded Skyrim.
  2. Yeah I heard that sager puts a tight cap on coltage (or was it current?) in their BIOS, I'm thinking about flashing the clevo one or something similar as all I can really do in XTU is raise the overall preset clock.
  3. Well I just quit my job because of school after spending most of my money on the laptop I was saving up for, so I did'nt get too much. I ended up with a Logitech m640 mouse (ended up hating it) for about $15, some random usb flash drives, and some nike training shoes. Other than that i got the enjoyment of seeing people line up all the way to the freeway at Fry's and then have a fun time at Walmart (chaos).
  4. I ended up designing this for an Assassins creed obsessed friend on solidworks. The image above is a render of what should be the ideal product, but is had to redesign the cut-aways on the sides due to the walls being too thin for the 3D-printer. I sent it to get printed at shapeways.com out of New York out of stainless steel, it should come any day now. I designed this one for my GF, it came in already, gold coated stainless steel. The base of the triangle is 1.5 inches long and the thing cost me just under $20. This one arrived already but i don't have any pictures on hand. Everything came out fine, but the surface was a bit too grainy for my taste :/ I'm thinking about opening an online store on shapeways, see if there's any money to be made there with my designs.
  5. The graphics card should not be too important, I do not know if any toolboxes allow for GPU compute anyway. Since Matlab is essential running code, and especially iterations, in serial, the best way to improve performance is to improve single threaded. Definately disable hyper threading and see if you cant tweak the processor some with intel XTU (overclocking, use at your own risk!) Hope this helped!
  6. Sager NP8278 (Clevo P170SM-A) intel i7 4810MQ GTX 970m (6 GB GDDR5) primary storage - crucial MX100-128 GB secondary storage - seagate 1 TB SSHD 8 GB 1600 generic samsung ram (single stick, room for 3 more) Windows 8.1 (I know, but my school gives it out for free, can't wait till W10 full release)
  7. Hawaii by The Strokes It sucks that not to many people know it as it was one of the B-sides on the vinyls.
