Im pretty new to this forum so let me start with a question: i would like to use my M14x as my main workstation connected to my tv and controlled by wireless mouse + keyboard. Its pretty annoying to stand up, open my tv locker, turn on the laptop, so i wondered if it is possible to power on the M14x with my wireless keyboard. does anybody know if the A08 has such a setting?

haha thought so. Microsoft always dies this, just take a look at the evolution of windows: win 10: nice win 8: crap win 7: nice win vista: crap win xp: nice win millenium: crap and so on. i think thats some kind of strategy or something xD

I also broke the little plastic hinge thingy, when i replaced the original HDD with an SSD. luckily i had a hot glue gun in my garage and managed to fix it. however, it took some tries so stabilize the whole thing long enough until the glue got cold, so it really was no work for someone whos more... raw *laugh*. But until now im not running into any problems with it, the dvd drive works perfectly and my SSD also does a great job.

Im currently also running an EVO (840, 250GB) and so far it runs flawlessly. No problems with booting or anything else. My next step would be flashing the BIOS with the Sata fix to get Sata 3 speeds. Im a little afraid tho, because i never went with a bios flash yet. Also, is the rapid mode of samsung magician contraproductive to the lifespan of my SSD? What exactly does it do?

My 14 R1 is about 2 years old now. yesterday i upgraded it with an 840 evo 250gb and it really feels as strong as the day i got it. the hardware is powerful and know it runs like a rabbit on acid

In my oppinion Windows 8 is a big mistake to Microsoft. Some of my friends are running it on their machines and i am very disappointed of how Microsoft tried to put two OS into one. If you want to work and game, i think Windows 7 is the better choice so far (looking for Windows 10 though)

I just installed a Samsung 840 EVO 250gb. Runs great so far, no problems yet. Plus i think the 840 EVO is the best choice, if you want to use the A08 BIOS fix, didnt hear of any problems with it until now.
