Thin notebooks will do that for that game. You should turn AA all the way down to the lowest settings. It doesn't help anyways (game is still super jaggy). You may want to reduce ppl in the environment too. You can try setting the max temp limit to just 87c as well.

Is nvidia's transparency AA worth anything? When I have it on globally, it gives me a -300 firestrike score compared to when I have it off. Yet, I don't notice anything different with the jaggies. Should I just ignore it? Does it only work for specific games?

I could still overclock so I guess they aren't nerfed drivers Got a -14 in firestrike though compared to the 344.80 drivers so I guess I'll still stick to 344.80 until the real new drivers come out.

Yeah, I know. It's best to do it after the pc has been on for a while so that the paste will be more fluid. I use those alcohol wipes that come in a big cylinder container. I don't have to change or do anything now. I was just saying that the next time I have to, I will try out GC Extreme.

So what's up with the new drivers: 341.44 345.20 that were just released? Did they block this trick? Do they perform better than one in OP? Or is it a real security patch with no strings attached?

Good thread. I have IC diamond on now and it's tough to get off when the computer hasn't been on. That means it'll probably take years before I have to change it. But when I have to, I shall get that GC Extreme.

So I got these and put them in and the computer didn't turn on at all so 1866 c10's aren't compatible Unfortunately I can't test the corsair 2133's like you just did with those because I already sent them back.

I have afterburner, but I really never thought to use it for recording. I've been using bandicam for like 6 years now and really never had a need to look back. The only think that I don't like about it is that it can't record 3D. But other than that, it's been very trusty and it isn't that bad on hardware when recording. It also has where you can have your personal watermark on it without having to re-encode. And with our systems now, I'm sure it'll be just as fast or even faster than the shadowplay. I mean, you have to pay for bandicam and all but it's very good. Of course there are many others, but anything is better than dealing with nvidia's stuff.

Why would ya'll want shadowplay from nvidia anyway? You know their support is wonkey. You can't even use GFE without the internet. There are so many better pieces of recording software.

I ordered some Vengeance 1866 C10 8gb sticks from RamExperts last week (exchanged the 2133 ram because they weren't compatible ~crashes alot). I'll let you know if those ones work stable when I get them in a few days. I hope they do. If not, I guess we are stuck on 16gb high end sticks or 32gb of low end sticks

I dunno about alienware but I know that my clevo needed help with installing the drivers. I just installed Prema's bios and vbios and everything was good. I still have hdmi so I guess yours will still have it to. I'm unsure about optimus but I haven't heard anything about it. I know that internal 3D didn't work anymore tho. Laptopvid2go drivers worked but prema's mod allows me to install new drivers without them. Dont go past 344.80 though if you want to overclock. If I remember correctly, if you stay on those, you won't be able to use GFE until you update. But I don't really care about GFE because of the drm.

A bit of a hot mess right now but I'll get around to that once I don't have to take the machine apart anymore looking for compatible ram

Lol at nvidia link. The ability to overclock on notebooks is apparently 'a bug'. Pretty sure that's not what 'bugs' mean if you're just putting in a line of code telling the drivers to lock the feature. On a single 330 power brick with a 4.2 on all cores processor overclock, I get a score of 9503 on firestrike with a gpu overclock. I had it at 9656 stable on firestrike but I had to go down some because the Heaven benchmark wasn't stable. Without an overclock, I was getting 8470. So that's a pretty big difference. I guess these forums need to make mods for unlocking overclocking for the drivers now I was hoping to get 10k on firestrike but I guess that's not possible on a single brick.

I remember I had a set but the pc didn't boot with them but it booted up in my p370sm3 and gave me a 7.9 there. I see you have G.Skill ram of 4gb modules. Do I have to stick with 4gb sticks? What should I look for when purchasing future ram for this machine so that I can make sure it works before I buy? I would like to purchase compatible 1866 sticks (preferably 8gb sticks each; 2133 depending on price). Have any recommendations or is this machine incapable of 8gb sticks with speeds higher than 1600? I can't seem to find that part number online. Have a link? In windows 7, my WEI for Memory is 7.8. What ram can I gets that works in this machine that can give me a 7.9? I currently have 2x8gb C9 Corsair Vengeance 1600 sticks. And will getting 32gb of ram make the WEI 7.9?

344.80 is unlocked. That's the version right before the first locked version. I'm a gpu overclocking noob. Can I have someone's +gpuclock and +memclock for those who have a p570wm? Right now I'm at +135 & +250 with a temp limit of 87c. In firestrike, i have 9409. With temp limit maxed, I get 9414. Can I get higher?

Okay, cool. Does the newest drivers not allow you to overclock? Inspector or MSI won't let me do it. I have to keep below the driver in the first post? Edit: Nevermind, I ran across a post saying that they still are locked after that driver too.

Does this work okay for the new driver after the one indicated on the first post? I'm confused as to whether or not to keep the CLEVO_8GB_GTX980M_OC_PM_v1 by Prema or to install this one. I see stock on his but OC in the name fo the file. Is it that this is overclocked by default and Prema's is in stock values? Which one should I do?

Hey guys, I have these memory sticks: Vengeance® And these are my specs: My machine says xmp not supported in the bios. So, can somebody post their settings who has the same or similar ram so that I can overclock this ram to be 1866?

Where exactly can I find that?
