  1. I too have signed this petition ... we can only hope it will help reduce Lenovo's obsession with locking down the BIOS.
  2. Also, if possible being able to have the MSR register unlocked that would also help with power management... A CPU MSR dump shows bit 15 of MSR 0xE2 is set, meaning it is locked which causes a kernel panic very early in the OSX boot. Apple moved CPU power management into the kernel. This is known as XCPM (XNU CPU Power Management). Apple's computers do not have a locked MSR 0xE2, while most PC laptops are locked. So when the kernel attempts to write to the locked register, it causes a kernel panic. The workaround right now is the kernel must be binary patched for CPUs using XCPM to avoid this reboot.
  3. Hey guys...I've got a Lenovo ThinkPad T440s and the bios is locked down hard. I'm currently running OSX mavericks and Yosemite in a dual boot config and it would be nice to have use of a Broadcom WiFi card. I already have the replacement card that is a combo Bluetooth 4.0 card plus WiFi ac. This card is one of the new NGFF cards and it boots up to the unauthorized network card error. I've been unable to find a white listed BIOS anywhere. Also I've upgraded this to have the full HD display 1920x1080 from the 1600x900 display. I'm having some display issues that is due to the pre-allocated dvmt memory Being too low for Apple's kernel extensions and after boot I have to logout and back in to reset the graphics issues. So if it was at all possible it would be amazing to be able to: Remove WiFi white list Enable advanced video settings in the bios Enable fan speed control settings in bios (it doesn't run not exactly but I don't care about fan noise so I'd like to have it run faster)
