  1. Jumping into this conversation a little late, but I figured that my situation might be similar. I bought a new 1600x900 LCD panel to replace my 1366x768. I installed it with no issues and the computer will boot up. However, the image displayed is very strange. It shows blue instead of black, appears very stretched, and only shows about half the screen. I can boot into windows just fine and it even recognizes that I am using a 1600x900 panel, however everything still appears all screwy. Is this an issue with the cabling, as you all have mentioned in this thread? Or is this a BIOS issue?
  2. Are there any special hoops that you have to jump through to get windows installed on one of these? Or do they function just link another HDD once installed? Based on your experience, is it worth getting one of these even if an SSD is already installed as the main drive? Is there any noticeable gain over a traditional SSD?
  3. Has anyone had any luck upgrading their y410p screen from 1366x768 to 1600x900? If so, was this done with the stock BIOS? Or did you go through the process of unlocking the BIOS? I ask because I bought a new screen and installed it on my stock y410p. The computer can start up and boot into windows fine, but the picture is all messed up. The color is all blue and I am only able to view about half of the picture. Windows recognizes that the screen is 1600x900, however it appears that the BIOS is unable to correctly make use of the new hardware. I am curious to know if I am heading down a dead end with upgrading my screen even with the unlocked BIOS or if there is a legitimate possibility of making this work a BIOS mod. Thanks!
  4. I bought a Removable Graphics card for my y410p but it was the y510p's GT755M. You can get the card in the y410p, though the faceplate will not line up perfectly once it has been inserted. The big issue is with the BIOS in that the stock BIOS supplied by Lenovo will not work with SLI at all. Additionally, you need a 170W power adapter in order for the machine to even run with two video cards.
  5. Fair warning about this: I bought the UltraBay Graphics card for my y410p and it would not work with the stock BIOS. I am planning on opening my BIOS using the information contained on this thread in order to get the new card to work properly: http://forum.techinferno.com/lenovo-ibm/4668-lenovo-y410p-y510p-unlocked-bios-wlan-whitelist-mod-vbios-mod.html
