sorry i'm new to all this and don't quite understand the DSDT override [Guide] and it looks really complicated from what i read. ( afraid i'll break smthg) can i just use Setup 1.30 to do the DSDT override? (without going into all the scripts and compilers) it looks easier honestly thanks

got my egpu to work today! i had the code 12 error (not enough ressources) so i had to take out 2GB of RAM. had 2x 2GB (4GB total) now i have only 2GB in total. now everything works perfectly. I was wondering if i buy a 1x 4GB stick of RAM (1 module) and install it instead of my 2GB stick will it still work? (or will i get code 12 error again?) specs: lenovo G460 i5-460m 2.53Ghz dgpu nvidia geforce 310M ( egpu GTX 650) HM55 Chipset 2 GB ram ( was initially 4GB RAM before i took out 2GB) Expresscard34 win8.1 pro 64bit THanks

thx nando so if i understand this correctly, if a game supports DX10 or DX11 i will get the same performance as with optimus? i found out that my dormant igpu ( i5-460m) is an intel GMA HD (graphics media accelerator) and not intel hd 3000 or 4000 series. would optimus still work if i use win8.x on my system? which graphics card do you recommand for gaming ? thx

Thanks for your reply dan. my igpu is indeed dormant coz i can't see it in device manager nor in the BIOS (i only see my dgpu). im not thinking of changing my OS any time soon ( + i don't really like windows 8.1) and i count on using my external LCD screen for my egpu. is there any another way to trigger optimus or to detect my igpu? if not, is it still wise to install an egpu on a pcie x1 v1.1? my TOLUD is C0000000 is that any good to install an egpu? (and do i need setup 1.30 ?) Thanks again

hello, i am new to egpu but this forum is really helping me understand some things to get started. which egpu video card do you guys recommend (for best performance) for my laptop: lenovo G460 i5-460m 2.53Ghz nvidia geforce 310M HM55 Chipset 4 GB ram Expresscard34 win7 ultimate 64bit After some research, i found out that my laptop only supports pcie v1.1 and i only want to use my expresscard slot to plug my egpu (so only x1). i read that x1.1Opt is the best solution for me but i didn't quite understand what it really is or how to set it up. if someone can explain it to me i would be very grateful. i would also like to know if i'm gonna need setup 1.3 from nando when i install everything. I was thinking of getting a GTX 750 Ti but im not quite sure. what do you guys suggest?
