  1. I decided to send back the GTX 980m because it just sucked trying to get it to work. So i upgraded to the 780m, but I can't seem to download this modified inf
  2. So I bought the GTX 970M from Eurocom and have been going nuts with getting it to work in my Alienware M17Xr3. Upgraded from a dead GTX 580m that would overheat. First frustrating part was that there is no information in the world of the internet on the pad placement for either the GTX 970M or GTX 980M. .. (end rant) Basically when I turn the M17xr3 on, it gets like 1 bar on the bios bootup and I can't enter F2 to get into the bios. It just restarts. At first it was making a solid 5 beeps sequence over and over and after a power drain it boots to the alienware boot screen and just goes into infinite reset loop. Thoughts?
  3. Thanks! got it to install, but having this issue: Solve a problem with NVIDIA Graphics Driver NVIDIA Graphics Driver has stopped working properly. A driver update, if available, might prevent this problem from recurring. There are several ways of locating and installing driver updates, but it is best to let Windows do this for you. Try the first step below, which describes the process. If it doesn't produce a driver update that solves the problem, then try the remaining steps in the order given. I played dota2 for alittle bit and it kicked me out saying dota.exe was being blocked from using the graphics card. All honesty, I just used your modified inf in this thread thinking the goal was just to get it installed. It was for a 680M, should that make a difference?
  4. Hello, I am having the installer run but the graphics driver install fails. My info: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1211&SUBSYS_04BA1028&REV_A1 PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1211&SUBSYS_04BA1028 PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1211&CC_030000 PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1211&CC_0300 Alienware M17Xr3 GTX 580M on Windows 8.1, please help!
