Just saw this it looks pretty good. Can't wait for the benchmarks to come out. You can even get 2k screens on the laptop. -

Would this work? If I got a powered pcie x16 riser and attached it to a 120w hp laptop charger? Am i able to directly attach a molex cable to one? -

Hmm, I think this is the way to go. Has anyone made a fully enclosed solution with this product? -
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, I've got the same notebook and am wanting to set up an EGPU solution.

eGPU experiences [version 2.0]
justforbuild replied to Tech Inferno Fan's topic in DIY e-GPU Projects
Looking at the DIY express card eGPU would this work? Just asking as I currently have this slate pc. It has the slot. http://www.motioncomputing.com/downloads/User_Docs/J-Series/J3500_specs_US.pdf But it only has a G1 i7 processor does that mean it's incompatible? -
So only 25w draw does that mean I'd cannot plug a GTX750TI into the Thunder2?
-
Thanks and about the other questions can you answer those for me too?

Hi all I'm wanting to create a system with an e-GPU and have decided this would be best for me. An apple laptop with retina display paired with the Akitio Thunder2 PCIe Box and GTX750TI. Before I get started I want some feedback to know if this is optimal or a good idea. Can this build play directly from the screen at the retina resolution? Will the Akitio Thunder2 PCIe Box be compatible with a GTX750TI without the need for an external PSU (I just want the case and the cable running to the laptop)? What model of apple laptop would be the best for this? My understanding is that the best is latest intel processor and integrated graphics.
