  1. Glorious Update... A09 removes the "Windows 8 Fast Boot"-Option again, which came new with A08. Also the GT-Overclocking-Function is disabled when having an ATI-Card built in.
  2. I could work out the link on their FTP-Server. A09 can now be downloaded via this link: ftp://ftp.dell.com/FOLDER00931122M/1/M17R4A09WIN64.exe Have Fun !
  3. And again, the downloadlink is broken. It's not possible to download the A09 at the moment. I can't find it on their FTP-Server too. Every time they update something on their homepage, it's not possible to download it for days. How can such a big company have such a bad homepage-support.
  4. Ehm....something must have been buggy with the A08 I think, because Dell released A09 today !!!
  5. I really would like to know what this "Windows 8 Fast Boot"-Option does or how it works. Windows 8 boots up in a few seconds even with A05.
  6. The only new feature I can find is a "Windows 8 Fast Boot"-Option. It's activated by default.
  7. What a timing... Dell just released the A08-BIOS on their homepage. The link didn't work for me, but I could found it on their FTP-Server. Here's the link: ftp://ftp.dell.com/FOLDER00790406M/1/M17R4A08WIN.exe
  8. I just called the Alienware-Hotline, but the employee couldn't tell me anything about a new A08 update. He means the A05 is the most actual BIOS for the R4.
  9. I have flashed the unlocked BIOS and everything seems to work fine, but I can't find the new options in the BIOS. The only change is the tab "Main", where the hardwareinformations are listed. Everything else is same as before. Did I do something wrong ? The "Advanced" tab, like in this screenshot, is completely missing for me.
  10. It would be great if you could make a dump of it. I would like to take a look at it. Thanks for your efforts.
  11. Oh damn, you're absolutely right. Too dumb to read. Sorry Michael ! Did anyone of you experienced problems with overclocking the 7970m using Windows 8 too ? Under Win7 I was able to overclock with MSI Afterburner without any issues. Under Win8 I get graphic-glitches immediately after over- or underclocking the card. I tried a lot of changes with the graphics driver, but nothing worked. Do you think a modded BIOS is the solution ?
  12. I can prefer the PC 350 from Sennheiser. It's pleasently to wear and has really great sound.
  13. Ok, thanks. But another thing, why am I not able to download the attachments in this forum ? I would like to create a bootable USB-Stick using the file included in this instruction-thread: http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/1738-%5Bguide%5D-amd-vbios-flashing.html But everytime I try to download the attachment (http://forum.techinferno.com/attachments/microsoft-windows/2741-bootable_disk.zip), I get an error-report: What can I do ? I can't download the vbios Patcher as well. Same error: What's the problem ? Why can't I download any attachments on this site ?
  14. Hello everybody. I'm using an Alienware M17xR4 with the 7970m. On Win7 I could overclock without problems, but since I'm using Win8, it doesn't work anymore. When I over- or underclock just 1 MHz the screen starts to flicker. I tried a lot with modifying the driver, but nothing seems to work. So I decide to try the way by modding the BIOS. Are there any other configurations online ? Or just the ones in the startpost. By software, I had overclocked my card till 948/1550 without problems. Is it possible to create a bios with this values ?
  15. A short question. When I overclock my 7970M manually using MSI Afterburner (950x1500), the GPU runs with 400 MHz in Idle-Mode but the RAM still runs with full 1500 MHz. When I'm using the stock configuration (850x1200) the GPU runs with 300 MHz in Idle-Mode and the RAM with 150 MHz. What is when I use your modified BIOS ? Is the system able to automatically downclock again ? Danke !
