1. My previous laptop had two M.2 connectors (one for Wifi and I used the other for an SSD) Lenovo T540p great LCD however horrible oversized sensitive touchpad which prevents you from typing without moving your cursor (and Im an average sized person) with smaller hands. Also has an expresscard slot which allows you to connect egpu via expresscard and Nando4s diy gpu 1.30
2. Thanks Nando4! Finally an answer! I did see that link and it is impressive but way beyond my budget Does using the AKiTiO Thunder2 diminish performance over the Sonnet III?
3. Hi all, Ive been posting on related threads but no one has answered my question yet. I used to have a Lenovo T540p w/GT730m on a GTX780 by using EXP GDC v6 Expresscard on an external PSU with amazing results due to Nando4's egpu 1.30 On Windows 7 64bit Professional. However I have upgraded to a Late 2013 15inch rmbp w/GT750m I have tried to use the same EXP GDC v6 Expresscard WITH a Sonnet ExpressCard to Thunderbolt adapter without any success on having Nando4's egpu 1.30 recognize the card on both Windows 7 & 8. The GTX780 DID show up on OSX but could not engage it to work on the MAC OSX. What adapter would work best using Thunderbolt with getting the most possible performance. I do not have the resources to get the Sonnet III($1000) box. Would like to use the macbook LCD but not a deal breaker. I do not want to sell my rmbp and get an IRIS ONLY model either, I took a huge hit when I sold the T540p fully loaded to afford to get a fully loaded rmbp w/GT750m. Thanks in advance and for your time heres a photo of my project

5. Hey! I dont want to sound like a noob or that im lazy but has anyone tried this with a Late 2013 15 rmbp WITH the GT750m dedicated card? Im sure I can figure out the pin out to add power to both slot and GPU via external powersupply. Im not looking to play it on the Macbook screen i have external monitors to connect it to but if its possible id give retina gameplay a try too Ive tried the EXP GDC V6 on a T540 with Nando4's eGPU 1.30 on a GTX780 with amazing results however using the EXP GDC V6 and a Sonnet Expresscard to Thunderbolt doesnt seem to recognize the card. =\ And for those who want to be the hero for the day can you explain to me if there are bandwidth (performance) limitations on this? Would this provide better GPU performance over expresscard adapters or the trio of pricey sonnet boxes? I have Windows8 and 7 Pro 64bit if a preference matters with an amazing case to put this in which ill gladly share once I get something working on my rmbp GT750m Thanks in advance!
6. I believe the M.2 capped bandwidth is only 4GB/s not 5
7. Hey guys im new! Before I used a egpu setup with EDP GDC V6 with Expresscard to a Lenovo T540p w/GT730M and a GTX780 card with great results. Ran Nando4's eGPU 1.30 and it worked flawlessly besides having to hotplug the expresscard before booting into Nando's eGPU BIOs program to disable my GT730M onboard card. Ran the display to a 1080p monitor too btw. However I sold everything and now have a Late 2013 rmbp 15inch w/GT750M card, will this work with the EDP GDC V6 expresscard to a sonnet thunderbolt adapter? If no Will either of these work Sonnet SEL (w/x16 riser), Sonnet SE II, or Sonnet III-D? I can figure out how to power it, and dont need the case for any of the Sonnets since ill be making my own, but does either model make a difference in terms of performance? Basically want to run a GTX780 VIA Thunderbolt without losing most of the performance via an external 1080p monitor. Any suggestions is welcomed! and Thanks in advance! For more info I have the EDP GDC V6 Expresscard adapter and have my own PSU to power both the unit and GPU Using a Quaddro NVS295 (to test it works before I reinvest into another GTX card) however after multiple reboots I have yet to see the card recognized within Nando4s eGPU program =[
8. Yes I have used a Right Angle HDMI adapter with the HDMI/Expresscard cable that was provided to route the cable in the direction I needed without any issues. You can use any HDMI extension since it just mimics the data.
9. Hey guys im new! However I have used this device with a T540p and Nando4's eGPU program to disable my GT730m and ran fine with an external GTX780 I switched over to a Late2013 15" rmbp with GT750m and im curious if this will work with a Sonnet Expresscard to Thunderbolt. I have installed Win7 64bit Pro in BootCamp and ran eGPU but it doesnt recognize a Quaddro NVS295 (used for testing since I sold the GTX780) Would anyone know if getting the Sonnet III be better (I know for $900+ is expensive but ive invested too much $ already) I have access to Win8 and Win7 64bit Pro. I just want to use a GTX780 on my Macbook so I can easily detach and take it to work and come home to game without having to invest in a dedicated desktop rig.
