Hey guys, upgrade question for ya. The 6990m in my 2011 M17x R3 has died. I'm hoping that, instead of getting a whole new rig (this thing cost me about 2100 a few years ago), I can just replace the GPU itself. I've seen it mentioned a few times, but I just wanted to double check what the best way to go about this is. It doesn't need to be top of the top, but definitely would prefer a top tier new GPU that can get me by for the next few years without breaking the bank. Also, the easier to replace with my 6990m the better (some notes say that replacing it with an Nvidia card might be considerably harder). Your input would be greatly appreciated!
