Yes I noticed that, too... Googling like a pro (well not really) I found this, but I'm not going to try that just yet in case the error is there for a reason, but in the spirit of progress I figured I'd ask (and I don't expect a guarantee, that'd be silly) if there should be any reason the BIOS would not work if forced to flash?
-
3 - ERROR. File does not match BIOS file size or something very similar to that, quoting from a shoddy short-term memory.
-
Well, ironically I tried using WinFlash just for the heck of it yesterday, and all I got (and get now) is "Invalid BIOS file." Tested to see if the program was at fault by adding the stock BIOS, but that went fine.
-
Do you mean ASUS Winflash? But that can't be used to flash the vbios? I planned on using a DOS bootable and nvflash to flash, but, no? (I actually tried, too, thinking maybe the newer versions had .209 support or something)
-
I'd love to be able to flash with a .209 file, but alas, I cannot Referring to the G55VW zip file you've uploaded, it contains said file, and, well, it either speaks for itself or I'm ignorant...
-
I'd love to have a crack at that G55vw vbios, would it be rude to ask if someone could send it to me or something? I read earlier in the tread you need 5 rep posts to be able to download stuff, and I don't see that happening any time soon :/

Oh and for what it's worth, lspci returns "NVIDIA Corporation Device 0fd4 (rev a1)" on my G55vw, which is the same being returned on a G75vw
-
Yep that's my machine I screencapped, a G55vw =) I saved them as .rom and .txt, does that work, btw? Oh and thanks
-
Well, never had I thought saving my Asus g55vw's vbios would be this hard. I tried several drivers, but neither GPU-Z nor nvflash managed to read it. So, I went with the mother of all solutions, linux. I've attached the .rom and, if that is wrong, there's a text file as well. ASUS G55vw VBIOS: vbios.rom.zip

I'm also here from the ASUS ROG forum wondering about your vbios... For some reason neither nvflash or GPU-Z lets me dump the bios, well, nvflash reports a driver problem, and GPU-Z tells me nothing. I'm using the stock nvidia drivers instead of ASUS', that might be it, but I did post a screencap of GPU-Z for what that's worth here: http://rog.asus.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=10434&stc=1&d=1343259880 If you want/if it's needed, I'll reinstall the old drivers and see if that helps. Cheers
