  1. Ok, so I finally managed to flash both my BIOS and vBIOS but I wish the instructions were clearer especially for those who don't know much about computer hardware or still learning.
  2. I've realized that it would be easier and a lot faster to downgrade to BIOS v.3.05. Unfortunately it is not available on the Lenovo website anymore and so I had to spend a lot of time looking for it. Found it within this thread and successfully downgraded to 3.05 (had to enable BIOS backflash first). Now I've ran into more problems as soon as I started with the actual manual from the first page. Tried to backup BIOS but it does nothing. Extracted all the files into 1 folder and followed exactly what it says in the manual but NOTHING!!! WTF am I doing wrong?
  3. Anybody wants to share their modded version of BIOS v.3.08 please? Also I'm not sure but it seems that I would also have to mod vBIOS for my Y510p since I have dual GT 750M. How do I do that?
  4. I can confirm that the moded BIOS works and the whitelist has been removed. I already poped in my AC7260 and love it. However, I tried flashing VBIOS for my 750M SLI GPU and couldn't get it to work after. After VBIOS flash my computer doesn't recognize my 750M SLI GPU. The actual process of flashing the VBIOS went pretty smooth and I didn't have any problems with it, though I'm pretty sure I used the wrong VBIOS rom which was provided on the first page of this thread (link to the file http://forum.techinferno.com/attachments/lenovo-ibm/8250d1373543023-y500-y400-sli-750m-80.07.9d.00.11-oc.zip) So if anybody knows where to get the correct VBIOS rom for my 750M SLI GPU or if somebody could mod my VBIOS (see attached file) I would really appreciate if you can share it with me. Thanks I finally finished flashing my VBIOS with assistance from Klem, I had to ask him to mod my stock VBIOS so I could flash it onto my SLI GPU. Everything is stable and working great, now all that I have left is to figure out the most optimal and stable OC settings. VBIOSBU.zip
  5. Any updates on flashing a custom BIOS on Y500 with 2 X GT 750M SLI running Windows 8.1? Would I be able to remove the whitelist to install my Intel AC 7260? Has anybody been able to OC your 2 X GT 750M SLI past the +135 limit as well as change voltage? From what I've read in this thread there's no solution to this issue so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  6. I just bought an Intel AC 7260 for myself for $30 which is a pretty good deal and had a tech install it for me. Though, after the install the tech said that my Y500 doesn't support this wireless card to which I said I knew this but thought he'd flash the BIOS for me. The tech then said that I won't be able to use my AC 7260 with my laptop. So I will be trying to flash the BIOS myself and hopefully I can bypass the Lenovo whitelist issue. But yeah AC 7260 is way better than the N 1202 since it supports AC channels. Hope this helps Finally flashed my BIOS and installed AC7260 and so far it has worked flawlessly. Just make sure to install the latest drivers for your wlan card to have BT working.
  7. I always use my Swiss Gear backpack with the built-in padded sleeve for laptop size up to 17". I have a Lenovo Y500 and it's pretty big but fits nicely inside my Swiss Gear.
  8. I had something similar happened to me, the only thing that saved me was the Lenovo OneKey Recovery. I had to do a hard reset on my laptop though. After I did the reset everything went back to normal but my data was gone, thank god I had a recent backup stored on my external hard drive.
  9. I hear FC4 runs on a slightly improved game engine as FC3 so I believe it would still run on high setting with GTX770M in SLI config. Heck I even thin I'd be able to run it on medium-high settings with my GT750M in SLI
  10. Getting 16GB RAM laptop kinda futureproofs your purchase and if at some point you need that much RAM you will not strike out and be ready for that moment. Great purchase by the way, enjoy your laptop
  11. The GT780M SLI is ranked higher than GT880M and therefore I believe that overclocking GT780M SLI will achieve much better results than with the other one. Check out this link NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M SLI - NotebookCheck.net Tech for more info on GT780M SLI
  12. I personally think that Hitman: Absolution has a pretty good story. I just started playing it and enjoy every moment of the game. If you've ever played any Hitman games you'll know that their storylines aren't the greatest but Hitman: Absolution is definite improvement and most of my friend also liked it.
