  1. yes I was definitely confused, and as a standalone 450w is overkill for sure, if i come across anything I'll be sure to let you know what I find
  2. if the computer is in stand by you will see a great decrease in battery power when returning to it a few days later. also if you don't drain your battery on the occasion the lithium ion battery will build up pressure and release your actual battery liquid material as a gas, and the battery won't charge to the full capacity it once had. see these read ups on this issue with lithium ion batteries, check out these sites How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries - Battery University http://canada.newark.com/pdfs/techarticles/tektronix/LIBMG.pdf Lithium-Ion Battery Maintenance also you will probably have to verify there are no standby issues if your using the program utorrent I've had issues in the past with my desktop not going into sleep mode because torrents were running, or they had finished but still the computer wouldn't engage sleep mode. just check your power management settings and also the device manager for that computer controlled power save mode.
  3. This is incredible I am definitely going to do this when I have time and the supplies, I just stumbled across this post and love it! I need to first upgrade the bios on my MS-1761 version 3.06!
  4. as for my experience of how the future will pan out, new technologies don't always work out 100% when they are released it's only after a few revisions do they get all the kinks out, you could build a great gaming PC with one of the current core i7's have it overclocked to 4.0GHz, any questions on what to build feel free to pm me for my input.
  5. firstly with a power supply you have to understand that there are a lot of things thirsting for power, so my question to you would be how many hard drives are you running? what is your CPU/mobo/ram how many fans are running what kind of cpu cooler are you using and how many fans does it run? 2 if it's water cooled like the H60/80/100 by corsair, 400w seems like definitely not enough power to run your whole system with gaming in mind, I've never built a gaming PC with less than a 650w PSU the only way to see if your computer is really maxing out it's full wattage would be to get a watt meter that plugs into the wall and has a digital meter on it and if you see 400w while your playing a game your completely maxing out your psu check out the nvidia's webside for your minimum PSU requirements for that specific graphics card GeForce GTX 670 | Specifications | GeForce
  6. I'm looking to flash the bios on my ms-1761 version 3.06 at least thats what it says in the bios, and I was wondering if my whiteboard msi x7-8800 from cyberpowerpc.com is the same as the one in this post, as far as I understand it will be good to go even though everyone is saying the msi whiteboard mobo's can't be flashed and you'll brick them every time Update: Successfully flashed the bios, love all the new options now all i need to do is read on what they all do and go from there, already tried the xmp ram profile 1 and my cmos needed to be reset probably because I'm running 1333 bus ram, haven't found where to overclock the cpu but I'm sure i'll have to use throttlestop500a now, further updates to come! thanks xonar!
