  1. Great review Brian. But can it run Crysis 1?!?! Sent from my Sensation
  2. You can always try the GT70 BIOS. I hear it works fine in the 1762. Fan speed is controlled by the EC, whatever you put in the BIOS it gets overridden. Its kind of useless actually. Sent from my Sensation
  3. It runs much cooler and draws less power than the 675m. It's a heck of a card. Sent from my Sensation
  4. Welcome to T|I! You need 5 quality posts to be able to download the attachments. It's part of the forum rules. If you upload a clean ROM (reset to defaults in the BIOS please, no password, etc), I'll take a look. I'm not interested in slic injecting atm, never was. Sent from my Sensation
  5. Sorry for the delay, just got off my 14-hour shift. Ah, well if Xotic and Gentech say they install the 3rd antenna then I believe it. That's not a standard option for the notebook though, so it's something extra they do. Didn't know that. Range is definitely a huge plus and I see where you are coming from. My router is in the basement; on the 2nd floor I'll be lucky to get 3+ with my 2-antenna card. Xotic/Gentech are known to bend backs for their customers. A delay is a possibility, but why not call and ask? Wouldn't it solve your dilemma if they could swap it? They wouldn't charge you a fee for doing it, they would charge you the difference in price for the upgrade. Although, the best BT+WiFi combo is going to get you 2 antennae. Maybe a USB dongle would be the most convenient? I would ask whomever you bought it from if BT is built into the mobo, because it is for the 16F2, so I can't see why they would drop it in the next generation. That way you could stick with the 1103. Silly me, the 1203 doesn't exist! It would be nice if they made one though.
  6. I'm just a little confused as that would be Feb. That seems a little longer than most cards from production to initial release. Nvidia has been holding these back for a while, why they didn't release them ASAP to compete against the 7970M is what puzzles me.
  7. I don't understand why you care so much about the difference between the 1202 and 1203/1103. You realize 450mb/s is 56.25MB/s download speeds? No ISP is capable of providing those types of speeds, let alone 300mb/s which is 37.5MB/s download. I doubt you see higher than 3MB/s, which is only 24mb/s! Also, the 3rd antenna is a moot point. The MSI only has 2 antennae that wrap around the LCD, it doesn't support 3x3 wireless cards. My honest opinion is to buy a wifi/BT combo card and call it a day. Since you are returning you laptop with the 1103, just buy the next one with the 1202. It's by far the simplest solution.
  8. Do you have an external drive? You could load up the install files on those. I'm not sure if the adapter will work. I've never heard of someone putting one in this notebook for the mSATA slot. I'm also not too sure about the compatibility of a wireless card in the slot. It says mPCI-e which is the right factor. If you're returning the notebook aren't you returning the wireless card as well? Might as well get the 1202 when you order the MSI.
  9. 1. The MSI speakers are far superior to the Sager speakers, you won't be disappointed. 2. As Brian said, I'd do a fresh install as not all of the drivers are the same and your system may not function properly. It's always safe to start clean. 3. The mSATA slots are only available if you get the SKU with the Super RAID, otherwise, there will be a regular HDD slopt for 2.5'' drives. The mSATA slots replace the second HDD bay, it's an add-on PCB that adds that functionality. Why not get the Killer 1202-N card? It's the same as the 1102, just with BT 4.0 built in. Also, the notebook only has 2 antennae, so a 3 band wireless card will provide no benefit over a 2 band. What's strange is that my 16F2 has BT built into the motherboard. I wonder if they scraped it from the GT60 because of all the WiFi/BT combo cards available now.
  10. I gave in, bought Premium. CQ is actually not that bad.
  11. I thought it was 4 5 6 but @svl7 should be able to tell you for sure. Sent from my Sensation
  12. Oh yeah. All those epic 3DMark scores you see the 680M GTX's hitting are Clevo cards with MSI vBIOS.

  14. No hurry Paul, I'm not buying one of these cards at $800. Sent from my Sensation
  15. Indeed, it sounds like some throttling is going on with the CPU. Are you using TS? Also, are you going to be able to test the card in the 16F2 with the MSI vBIOS? This pretty much determines my next upgrade.
  16. I agree Metro would be a great game to test, but I don't think Brian owns it. The list is based off games he owns.
  17. UTC -5 for me, West Coast is at -7. Edit, whoops forgot to account for daylight savings.
  18. You gotta start somewhere. There's so much learning to do in BF3, I'd say half the process is knowing what everything does, how the physics work, what accessories/attachment combos work best for your play style. The rest is just practice, you only learn by making mistakes and repeated trying. I wouldn't say I'm a pro, but every game I come out >1K/D on DM and top 5 score in Conquest. That's now, compared to <.5 K/D and lower 3rd in Conq. when the game came out. Also, my flying has gotten slightly better. At least I don't crash within 1 minute anymore . This is coming from a hardcore DotA player, not an FPS guy at all. But, BF3 has changed my taste definitely. Plus, the only game where people take seriously is DotA, not BF3. It's nice to be able to jihad jeep and do stupid shit like that. It's not always about being #1.
  19. I'm totally down. Heck, I even threw $15 towards the other forum's one. I could do the same for this one (if you are planning on renting a server again). Although, surprisingly, for as many people as they have, the server was rarely populated.
