  1. have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest hotkey driver? also make sure you are on the latest bios for your device... Prema's BIOS mods are really well done so I'd strongly recommend using them. You can find them in the sticky thread.
  2. Fantastic! I was starting to have this issue with the fans randomly kicking in and was thinking that I got a poor ICD7 job from the factory. My temp gauges are showing exactly the behavior above. Thanks for the info!
  3. depends on whether or not you are able to source one. From what I've understood from talking to resellers, the 7970m is pretty scarce for clevo now and is basically either new old stock or used pulls... which honestly wouldn't be bad as long as you trust the seller. for what it's worth, I really enjoy my 680m but if I was on my old laptop with the 675m... Would definitely go for the 7970m or 8970m.
  4. More importantly, The big guys stand behind their products. If they say lifetime warranty or 5 year warranty, you will actually be able to RMA the memory instead of getting a chinese email mailbox of a company that's out of business.
  5. I have always favored ICD7 over AS5 because of it's total non-conductivity. Even if it somehow flows over the edge of the die after it's installed, it will not short your pins. It's also a lot thicker and tends to flow less. I've used both and YMMV. I have been exclusively ICD7 on my laptops since 2012-ish so take that with a grain of salt
