  1. Yeah not to mention the XXX mods LOL saw it couple of days back! But I did not purchase it, how does it compare to shadow of mordor? Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  2. Guys before I will move on with this platform to a mini ITX setup just one more thing I want to ask as to how will i use I full ATX PSU with an EXP GDC V6? I did purchase that atx to 8 pin power adapter from yoybuy. I was frustrated last night I did not even get to play with BF4 multi player hell even the campaign because the I kept experiencing low voltage drop in my setup for like 5 times and I said I give up, 2 more steps to go and I am moving to a desktop setup. So please tell me how to use a full ATX PSU with an EXP GDC V6 egpu? My dell DA-2 is now probably faulty because the voltage drops happen very often even after just a few minutes of starting the whole system up and casual browsing on Google Chrome.
  3. Very nice I think our gig is going mainstream now eh? Thanks to Tech Inferno Fan and the rest who started this movement! But its too pricey! Love the idea! But still I am going to build a mini itx gaming pc at that price point (alienware 13+gaming amplifier) which I tried to configure and reached up to $2400!!
  4. They (DELL) probably want you guys to purchase that new Alienware M18X with an SLI GTX 980M before they would release drivers first. Call me a conspiracy theorist but this could be possible! Good luck all of you guys! Yeah modding VBIOS will be a nerdy but great stuff for all who is planning to upgrade to a GTX 980M
  5. Yes ditto! see for now we got; US DIY eGPU peeps, MSI GS30 Shadow, Asus XG Station 2 and this Dell Alienware 13 with GPU Amplifier So Intel has got to support it! Hell this is product feasibility and full market potential for them! Any stupid individual from Intel that blocks this is either deaf and dumb!
  6. I will do this soon thanks @Tech Inferno Fan
  7. C'mon c'mon guys spread the word further let's make this Revolution happen with our rage fists via our signatures and pledge! "Now testify! It's right outside our door!" - Rage Against the Machine
  8. @Tech Inferno Fan I think they need to think of alloting royalty fees to you as the founder of this movement sir! Wow it's like an established scene now for the eGPU segment.. US (techinferno DIY peeps), MSI GS30 Shadow, Dell Alienware 13, Asus (XG station 2), etc... this is getting pretty much exciting everyday! I hope Intel Skylake will be able to augment this movement more in the future!
  9. I do have the same plan but a whole different scenario, I will do a crossfire attempt on a mini ITX motherboard via PCIE X1 and PCIE X16 slots, who know just try and buy dude for sure it will work because the PCB is designed to fully work like an actual X16 slot that powers itself on together with thr whole system as if it was attached on by default like how the implementations are with laptops when it comes to eGPUs. Only disadvantage is the PCIe lane will be limited up to only X2 instead of full blown X16 but in AMD cards it wouldn't matter as much... Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  10. Just wanted to help you guys hey I wonder if OP has had his implementation as successful as the others?
  11. There is an option to disable in my laptop (intel cpu+amd dGPU) in the bios and I think its a whole different story for the AMD APUs I guess. Oh okey alright I see it...I think at this point man I guess you really need to use Tech Inferno Fan setup 1.30. It's your last option I believe. Just PM him for details. 12. Whoah this is such a whole different story now buddy wait a sec, I did not know you had an AMD CPU, I guess you got all the steps right but I am trying to remember how I did mine at those last few steps, I remembered when I installed the Catalyst Desktop version, I did not reboot yet and checked my device manager, it shows the eGPU (initially attached and powered) as "Microsoft Basic Display" adapter. I would then push on the combination of FN plus the display function to select only my led monitor and it did went ok and I then rebooted. Now once the laptop boots up with that brand it will directly connect to my LED TV monitor and boot normally to windows 8.1 lockscreen. Although it took a while to boot up to windows 8.1, I knew why its maybe because it is performing the initial pcie compression to accomodate the eGPU electrically and integrate it into the system but neither that I experienced a BSOD unless I put that pcie reset delay button to the right side, it would display only weird artifacts. Maybe it's an AMD APU thing..sorry..couldn't help more Oopsie my bad!!! here I forgot one step!! disable dGPU in the BIOS option and choose iGPU only!!!! Don't choose switchable graphics, use integrated graphics!! shown here below Try that and tell us what happens!
  13. Yes that is correct as per Tech Inferno Fan writings Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  14. Wait Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk - - - Updated - - - Do this carefully step by step. -download and install DDU Uninstaller. -download desktop AMD Catalyst 14.9 WQHL driver -download latest intel hd graphics driver -run DDU uninstaller and remove AMD graphics first (just follow prompts, Clean and reboot) -run DDU uninstaller again and remove Intel graphics driver. Reboot -install intel hd graphics drivers reboot -install AMD Catalyst 14.9 WQHL driver with your eGPU attached to your PC powered on (don't worry this is completely safe trust me) Reboot -once it has booted, just press your FN+Display button and select secondary display only and enjoy your setup I assume you are having Windows 8.1 FTW And no you can't have a unified driver for both eGPU and discrete GPU, I think that Mobility Radeon HD 4570M runs on a legacy driver now, not so sure though. Mobile and Desktop Catalyst drivers are always different unless you modify it through rocket-science means. in My setup it will show an error (AMD Catalyst Driver) when I run my notebook with the eGPU unplugged and only the intel hd 4000 graphics will be active.
  15. Just buy and try mate, anyways later on you can request a modded bios for your laptop. Does not hurt
  16. Aw was about to post the same thing you beat me to it mate! kudos! here's an image of it; And the new ASUS G751JY has a thunderbolt 2 port (most probably) port to so mind you guys, ya'll got cash to splash this laptop is the joint!!!
  17. Good news to guys who are looking for a short PCB GTX 970! here! Gigabyte Builds First Mini-ITX GTX 970 Graphics Card maybe this will finally fit in that AKITIO TB2 enclosure!
  18. Just post your difficulty here with you error logs and mention Tech Inferno Fan for sure he will chime in right away or send him a PM Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  19. No its not hours mate just read and follow the instructions given to you by Tech Inferno Fan, if you are able to understand the whole concept of it, in no time your setup will be up and running Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  20. You can do both why not? Later on this year or early 2015 when skylake platform is here for sure I will build one and use my current gpu on it Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  21. No you have to read more the guide mate to be able to fully understand the whole concept and decide later on. It is not impossible thats why there are lots of successful implementations here. Hardwiring of desktop GPUs though is not electronically and electrically possible possible hence all these experimental stuff which are successful. If you want to be able to upgrade look for a laptop that uses the MXM gpu platform which is removable like ram. Google this "GTX 980M MXM" and you'll see good example of a compact mobile GPU Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  22. Hey thanks for the link mate I was looking for an available GTX 980 GPU too but OP was asking about the MXM version of the GTX 980 "M" mobile version for laptops Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  23. Whoah alrighty then must buy those cheap laptop coolers to aid in thermal control
  24. @allstone Is there a version of this where the fans will turn on in a constant full speed without slowing down? Thanks for such a program! Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
