Hey,
Is there a vbios for 880M that underclocks it to 780M clocks?
Regards
You can do it yourself with Kepler bios tweaker.

I did not know that.

Prema - you have a godlike patience.
Hats off to you!

GTX 980M iscompatible with the P170 EM
As of today, yes. Prema is working on it and has had some early success.
OP: The P170EM is a nice machine. In my opinion, you are going to have to open up the air inlets to get good cooling with these machines. Even taking a small file and making the slits a slightly larger will yield very measurable results.
Look here for Clevo cooling mods. I did some on my P170SM-A and had great results. For first link is what I did to my machine.
What I did to my CPU heat sink, which is very similar to what I did to my GPU heatsink. Mine was very warped. From what you have stated, you just need more air flow through the system.

Had this 880M since last year. Last time I checked I was #2 behind johnksss.

My ASIC is a crappy 69% on both cards.
n00b question: how is ASIC determined?

Hi is it possible to look over this dell gtx 770m and do your best?
Thx verry much in advance.
This is already unlocked. See the Nvidia 770m - 80.06.51.00.0F 'OC edition' - rev02.zip
It is the same board even though it doesn't say Dell in the zip file name.

Wish I could trade them my 880s for like 200 a piece towards a pair of 970M lol. But thanks for finding the cover, never would have thought it would be called a CPU cover module of all things lol.

n=1 sent me the link originally. And yeah, that is an odd description.

You rock man. If Sager keeps dicking me around on getting my master fan replaced, I see they sell them too... 40 is steep for a fan but I can't take the squealing... Fan noise: http://youtu.be/xvaQQIKKH7Y

Geesh.... that sucks. $40 is high for a fan, but you know it will fit.

Wonder if they have similar pricing for the P377SM-A... I've been thinking about contacting them anyway about some 970M cards but I've been hoping Sager would step up and take some responsibility and honor their warranty but don't get me started. Never again.

$45.00 for your's, Brother Ethrem... Be sure to pick the right one.

One of these days I need to get around to doing those hard mods... I just don't want to pay 80 bucks for a replacement bottom case which is the quote Xotic got from Sager. Would be nice to actually have my cards run even 993MHz without throttling.

The bottom cover is $35 from RJTech. Just be sure to pick the right one. If unsure, just call them. They are easy to work with and know their stuff.

this is my machine : NP8268-S(clevo p150sm-a) - i7 4810MQ - 15.6" 1920 x 1080 - 8GB - 1TB HDD - GTX 880M
with automatic cooling and stock bios my temp reaches 87C. it has an IC diamond paste courtesy of XOTICPC.
After flashing bios the max undervolt i could get was -12.5mv with 993mhz clock. Then the temps hovered around 80C with max fan.
I downclocked to stock clocks and the best undervolt i could get was -37.5mv with a core clock of 954mhz. and the temps still hover around 78-80c but , thats without max fan. if i enable max fans then, it stays around 75c - 77c with an ambient temp around i guess 23c. I'm from Fullerton, California btw.
Undervolting any further from -37.5mv on stock clocks or -12.5mv on boost clocks cause driver crashes and that means its not stable. I think the card is amazing but, it is plagued with these issues. Do let me know your undervolted voltages on stock and boost.
Thank you.
The thing is that I don't undervolt, I overvolt to get a stable system. I run my 880M at 1.025v all the time. The GPU is set for 993 MHz base clock with boost to 1032.5 MHz. Memory is set to 2800 MHz.

guys since gtx 880m runs crazy hot..can anyone tell me the best voltage to make it run cooler..i think the stock voltage is a bit exaggerated dont you think ?
and i have a sager np8268-s ( clevo p150 sm-a ) with gtx 880m 8gb..so im good to flash this bios right ?
Actually, the stock voltage is a tad low. If you undervolt it much it will just crash.
But keep in mind that every card is different. You may have better results than I did.
I suggest you address your cooling issues first. What machine are you running? If it's in your sig, I can't see it in Tapatalk.

Wait so if i use this modded VBIOS for my 880m Alienware 17 will it still throttle?
It *might* if you are all about benchmarks. It shouldn't if you are using it for gaming.

Hi,
I recently downgraded my Windows 8.1 to Windows 7 and want to know: Do I need to flash the modded vbios again? I deleted erverything, a complete formatting of my computer!
Greetings
Just to clarify...
Firmware in your video card is installed on the flash memory of that video card. If you remove the card and put it in another laptop, the flash memory goes with it and thus, the vbios.
When you format the computer what you are actually doing is formatting the hard drive or solid state drive. This has no affect on the video card bios. If you take the hard drive or solid state drive out and put it in another machine, your operating system and all your files go with it. Moving the storage to another machine does not mean things will work properly in that machine, but that is another topic. [emoji6]

the only way to change from "silent" to "cool" is to reflush the firmware - you can't achieve the same change by selecting different options in bios menu if you have modded firmware installed with "silent" option for EC, right ? I am sorry if the question is stupid - not an expert.
You are correct. The only way to change from "silent" to "cool" is to reflash the firmware.

Mhm... Maybe. Yet I thought the CPU in the upcomming MSI / Clevo / Asus was all part of the motherborad and therefore can not so easily removed or repasted?!

The GPU doesn't need to be removed to repaste the heatsink.

That is a nice looking machine.

Personal preference. But over at nbr forums your will see a vast preference for matte. I can't stand glossy screens right next to poor viewing angles.
Definitely... personal preference.
-
Mythlogic has the P650SE/SG up for pre-order/config and both the 1080p and 4k screens are glossy!
I actually swapped my matte screen in my P170SM-A for a glossy one just last week. So far I am very happy with the change. The glossy screen is much sharper and easier to read.
The going that prompted me was my wife's Yoga Pro 2, which has a 3200x1800 glossy screen. It is the sexy.

You guys are really wigging out over this.

That won't do it. My laptop always uses boost with the modded 880M vbios.
I tested this for you. What it takes is to go the the Boost Table tab and used the slider to set the max boost to 823.5 and save it before you leave that tab. It would be a good idea to save the file as something else before you start monkeying with it. I called my uc.rom (underclock ROM).
Here are the results.
