  1. I actually I just sent in my Y510p it only took 7 days from sending it in to getting it back, and they even upgraded my motherboard to one with a populated SSD slot. But your situation sounds like what I went through with Motorola when they were "fixing" my Atrix 4G's digitizer. After 5 months of calling them and being told that it was being worked on, I finally spoke to someone helpful who informed me that they had scrapped my phone for parts months ago (even though I had been told a week prior that it was still being worked on) and that they couldn't do anything about it. Another two weeks of calling later and they finally agreed to send me a replacement. Three weeks later when it arrived, I opened the box and noticed that It was refurbished (they told me it would be new). Thinking nothing of it I powered it on, only to see that 50% of the LCD worked. Luckily when I explained my story to AT&T they agreed that it was unacceptable and gave me a new phone. I have never trusted warranties ever since and was shocked when Lenovo fixed my laptop considering that It was my messing with a modded bios's that bricked it in the first place.
  2. When Upgrading to a SSD, I looked in the Ultabay port and noticed that it had a Sata connector in addition to the Ultrbay/PCIE connector and it got me thinking I know I could extend the Sata port and fit it elsewere in the laptop, however my question is when the GT750m Ultrabay graphics card is plugged in does the bios disable the Sata port. Additionally and on a different note, on the Y510P's without the M.2 connector is it also missing the supporting controller/circuity (I bought a few M.2 connectors from digikey and wanted to solder one on to see it I could connect an additional SSD). Thanks in advance!
  3. Hello, I am currently a Electronic Engineering Student, but have been a hardware hacker as a hobbyist for years. I recently ran across this forum while looking for a hack to remove the restrictions on my Y510P. So far I am impressed with the abundance of mods and ideas that this community has to offer. I have a number of projects that I have yet to document because I didn't feel that they would be appreciated/understood anywhere else, I think this might be the place. I look forward to joining the discussion. Also I am from the USA.
