More VRAM and overclackable make the Titan a good choice, I think. You still can SLI it when the GPU power of a single card will not be enough anymore. You can not add VRAM on a 3GB card...

Yes, you need to choose a 4Gb card, and to check that the two ports for the SLI bridge are aligned (not always the case with non-reference cards, I had the issue with a Gainward 4870x2 if I remember well).
