  1. I see your case here. But you have to consider that your new SSD will be much less efficient than dedicated large SSD (250GB+), it will be slower and after filling it up - performance will degrade considerably. new NGFF ssds are not ready for prime time yet... My advise is, only install OS on it, put everything else on the HDD , including page file and hibernation file etc. disable all indexing and prefect/superfetch and disk write/read caching.
  2. you could always disable optimus and use only the nvidia gpu. search google, lots of info on this. for games I mostly plug in the SLI ultrabay, so optimus is disabled anyway... didn't even need to use the SLI mode, I just plug it in to get rid of optimus ! 2nd gpu is left offline for all games.
  3. nvidia drivers are working great for me on Win8.1 x64 , just right-click the .exe and choose to run with nvidia graphics (instead of the integrated Intel 4600) you could also force it from the nvidia control panel for every game/app,
  4. There's no limitation for real-life use. SSD will outlast your computer, no reason to worry whatsoever. You will replace it anyway in a few years since storage technology is rapidly evolving. This doesn't mean it can't malfunction and die, but the same goes for every component in your system. always back up your important data On a personal note, I don't get why people buy cache disks. it's useless. Just buy a half decent SSD and replace the mechanical HDD that comes with your laptop. Or get a hdd ultrabay from ebay (less than $10) and put your old HDD as secondary...
  5. either the 840 evo or the sandisk extreme II Don't get anything less than 240GB, they are much slower. always opt for the 500GB/480GB or higher, especially if you're replacing the HDD. look for deals on amazon, newegg and slickdeals/fatwallet. Best price for the samsung 840 evo 250gb is $140 . Sandisk Extreme II 480GB $280 good resources- SSD Deals and Discounts Solid State Drives (SSD) Deals | SlickdealsCheap SSD Deals and Discount SSD Sales - February 2014 Cheap SSDs, Solid State Drives Best Deals | Dealzon.com
