  1. _1 BIOS 84.04.35.00.15 Image is even more messed up, with ghosting and lines. Will get into Windows but I have no image unless I boot in SafeMade. _2 BIOS 84.04.22.00.06 Image is even more messed up, with ghosting and lines. Will boot into Windows, but it's very hard to make anything out. After installing the drivers the LED strip stopped working but in the complete darkness of the screen I could tell the colours where no longer messed up, the lines dissapears but there was still some ghosting. None of the external ports were working. _3 BIOS 84.04.22.00.07 Same as my stock vBIOS. Everything works except for the internal RGB led screen having it's colours messed up (there are no lines or ghosting present). _4 BIOS 84.04.22.00.08 Seems to be the same as my stock vBIOS. Everything works except for the internal RGB led screen having it's colours messed up (there are no lines or ghosting present). However, during driver installation, when the screen went on and off, for a split second the colours on the laptop screen actually looked normal... strange.
  2. Ok, here are the results: first vBIOS 0A exclamation mark in Windows as secondary MXM card wrong memory size when primary it won't post, system won't detect the card second vBIOS 0B no exclamation mark as secondary MXM card when primary it won't post, system won't detect the card third vBIOS 0C no exclamation mark as secondary MXM card when primary it won't post, system won't detect the card reverted back to original 07 vBIOS everything works fine except for laptop RGB-led screen I am pretty sure now you can't use a 980M vBIOS on a 970M. Currently typing from my secondary dell screen using my GTX 970M.\ Yeah, I know, I like to test things and push them beyond their limit. The M17x R2 is similar to the M15x . Hence why the 970M is partially working, only the internal RGB LED screen is not working properly. I am currently playing SC2 on the 970M installed in my M17x R2, just that I using my external monitor. It could be a BIOS fix, it could be a vBIOS fix. With other 970M vBIOS the image was even more messed up on my internal laptop display so I think it is fixable and I am willing to pay to get it fixed.
  3. Ok. so here it is: Original MSI stock vBIOS: - colours are messed up on the laptop display - display port, VGA and HDMI are fully working. - the image is crystal clear on display port and HDMI. benchmark: http://imagizer.imageshack.com/img905/690/UnOgxG.png (ran on my secondary display) Nvidia GTX 970m - 'OC edition' rev0 - image on laptop display is messed up even worse - system will post - there is no image when I get to Windows unless I boot into safemode - unable to test HDMI, VGA, DP - even when placed in the secondary MXM port the card won't start and device manager will show an exclamation mark with code 43. Prema's 970M Clevo vBIOS mod (https://biosmods.wordpress.com/clevo-mxm/) - image on laptop display is messed up (worse then on stock, not as bad as with the one in this thread) - system will post - you can boot into Windows but now, besides the colour problems you get ghosting and lines - I didn't test VGA, HDMI and DP, but I think they will work So, no luck yet. But I think this could be fixed with the proper vBIOS. My Kepler based 860M is working fine so far in my M17x R2, apart from the fact that when the display is turned off, it actually turns completely white instead of of going dark.
  4. Fortunately I can do that... since I have 2 MXM slots. I have installed the 970M for testing purposes in the second MXM slot and it works. Of course the system won't use it, but I can access it's vBIOS and run some diagnostics on it. So if the flashing bricks the cards, I can easily fix it. Will test now and come back with the results.
  5. Hello guys, So I took the plunge and bought an MSI GTX 970M. I have then installed it in my aging M17x R2. The card seems to be partially working: It the sense that it boots up and gets into Windows but the image is all wrong: Even at BIOS POST the image is all messed up. I've tried the external monitor on VGA and the image is fine there. I think it's because of my RGB LED screens. Any idea how this could be fixed by editing the vBIOS? The original vBIOS is here: http://blacky.bestmail.ws/CLEVO%20BIOS/other/GTX970M_3GB_MSI.rom Any suggestions or ideas are welcomes.
  6. Hello, Can someone please provide me with a dump for the following memories: HX316LS9IBK2/16 They are Kingston Hyperx SO-DIMM 16 GB KIT (2 x 8 GB) 1600 MHz. I flashed the wrong SPD on my memories. They still work, but not exactly as I would want them to. Preferably done with Thaiphoon Burner. Thank you very much! BTW, I could also edit memory dumps if you want to. Thank you!
  7. Just installed a 860M GK104 in my M17x R2. The card works well apart from the fact that I can't turn off the display. Whenever the display is turned off (before or after BIOS post), the laptop LCD goes white. I have a RGB LED display. I have tried the modded inf in this thread but unfortunately it doesn't work... I have also flashed the card with an NVidia stock vBIOS (originally it had a Dell vBIOS). The card works great but I still get the white screen problem. Any ideas would be welcomed. Thank you
  8. I bought a 860M with slv7 modded vBIOS. The card is currently working in my M17x R2. Thing is... whenever I boot up the system the screen is white and than it shows vBIOS info and such. Also when Windows turns off display during idle time, the display instead of turning off becomes fully white. Any ideas? Update: I've tried a bunch of drivers, none of them work. The issue is present even with drivers removed and using generic Windows drivers. Here is what I know so far: - the issue is only present on my laptop display, never on my other 2 external displays - if i take out the battery, remove power cord and power up the laptop, I will never get the white screen until I reach Windows - I think it's the way the video card interacts with the display because I know that if I unhook the laptop display from the motherboard during operation, the display will turn white. - so technically, if the video card completely cuts out the video signal to the display, then the display will turn white. I think this is the case. - however, I didn't have this problem with my 675M So I think this could be a vBIOS fix. Maybe when the video card enters the lowest power states, then the display turns off...
