  1. As a follow up on what I said earlier. I found out that it was the CPU causing the visual artifacts. Huh you say? Well let me explain... When the CPU hits its thermal limit it starts to throttle, info is sent to the GPU that the CPU is on its limits for the GPU to throttle too and even though I used Intel Extreme Tuning to set the voltage to -80 it still wasn't enough. My temporary fix to that was to disable turbo, but still was too hot. The GPU was at 80ºC while the CPU was pegged at 95ºC, this was odd. So I decided to take a day off and open the underbelly of my laptop, pop a drive and start testing with a new OS and defaulted everything. Temps were different, Heaven run ended up with the GPU being in Turbo full time plus CPU also in turbo all the time with no throttling. What? Ok software is causing issues somewhere, loaded up the windows 8 msata ssd's and loaded windows. 95/80 ºC. Any idea if Clevo is gonna update the W230S* with a newer model carrying GTX9x0M GPU's? Okay, uninstalled Intel Extreme Tuning and Nvidia Inspector. Gave a good sweep for OS errors and downloaded an updated version of both. Undervolted and now its good. 80Cº CPU and 65Cº GPU now. Finally it works as it should.
  2. Btw Prema, I'm not blaming your work nor saying that your changes have caused this, wouldn't dare to do so, just asked cause I didn't want to brick the laptop flashing the vbios without flashing the bios. I'm just trying to troubleshoot it and the only way I know how to do so is to revert back to stock config and if no solution is found RMA. Which will require me to go back to stock bios/vbios anyway. This computer has run since day one with your Bios, was the 1st thing I did when I opened it up and it worked without issues and a few months ago these started happening till I found what that it was perfcapreason. Now it is bothering me cause everytime it hits anything besides util it gives me artifacts, the most common is the temp limit though.
  3. All of those done. Stock vBios it is. If it fixes my issue I'll leave it here. Got the answer I was looking for I'll find the solution and post it here afterwards. Thanks
  4. If you don't see it then tell me what in your opinion will fix artifacts everytime my card is being bogged down(Perfcap) by thermal and causes screen flickering plus artifacting? Turning off turbo on the i7 reduced the thermal output on the i7 and lowered these issues, but still that is not a solution...
  5. Hey Prema, can I flash the stock GTX765M vbios to my W230ST with your v2 bios? I'm currently using the v2 bios and your modified GTX765M vbios but it's giving me artifacts and it bothers me so I'd like to fix that.
  6. Do you have a backup of the stock bios? Flash that back for the keyboard. Regarding the 880M you probably need to reset the EC or flash the correct vbios. Ask from the other member who has the same laptop his vbios in case its the latter.
  7. When I bought my W230ST, I only installed windows and all the drivers. After that I installed prema v1 bios. I didn't use the stock bios for long and was amazed with the differences it made. My gf house is right next door to the distributor that sold it to me, so if anything went wrong... I would've simply exchanged the laptop 1 hour after purchasing it lol.
  8. I went straight from the V1 of Prema bios to the V2, if you had to flash stock before Prema would've told us.
  9. Prema you're the man. I just overclocked my measly 8Gb of Gskill 1333Mhz CL9 2N ram that I bought for 40 bucks, yes you read that right 40$ to 1600mhz cl9 1N. I gave it a go at 1866Mhz without messing with timings to see if it would stick, computer went unresponsive. Reseted the bios and and off it went. Still I'm rather happy with what you allowed me to do with my W230ST, 250gb 840Evo + Crucial M500 120gb in raid0 and 8Gb at 1600mhz + i7 running at 3.4Ghz. Dead silent in multimedia tasks. Clevo should be paying you, their performance laptops become even more powerfull with your tweaks. One day they'll be coming with your bios from factory(I know some resellers already do that)
  10. I bought a W230ST 6 days ago, before buying I searched arround and in notebokeforum the Prema bios were praised for unlocking and stabilizing any clevo laptop. They did not lie for I flashed it 3 hours after purchasing it. Computer is fast and quiet when doing office work and it has the punch I wanted it to have. I haven't messed arround too much with overclock other than overclocking my ram from 1333mhz cl9 to 1600mhz cl9. Paid 700 euros for it with a basic wi-fi card cause they didnt have the Intel AC in stock with the i7 4700MQ. Installed 4gb ram I had laying arround from my netbook and bought a 250gb 840 Evo, the only thing that currently bothers me is the static when I plug earphones and something is connected to the USB port. I may try to isolate that component from static in some way, any idea/suggestion?
