Yep, I have a P170SM and I had no success in enabling 3d vision on a 780m through HDMI or DP. Still didn't try the miniDP port, but my hopes are extremelly low.

You cannot disable Intel GPU - it is the graphical backbone of every Optimus system. You'll only be able to disable discrete (NVIDIA) GPU, if your (modded) bios allows it.

I was wondering myself the same thing. You know that Optimus and 3d stereoscopic gaming don't match (it is a hardware problem, but I also blame nvidia for their stupid policy of conditioning the access to their 3d vision technology by the aquisition of their expensive receiver+glasses). If there is the slightest posibiliy of this by using a modded bios, then you should ask Perma - he knows best. But I am quite skeptical.

Optimus is a pain in the *ss, especially when it comes to 3d stereoscopic gaming. In short, it is a hardware problem - all signals are passing through iGPU (intel), so 3d Vision on Nvidia dGPU for example cannot be activated. The rare exceptions are few gaming laptop with 120Hz screens - where the dGPU is connected directly to the output video connectors. Hope it helps.

Just when I bought a 780m... Just my luck.
