So i have read the 2015 macbook pro 13 won't work with an egpu set up ? is this correct as i see the 2015 15 inch model works ? i bought a new macbook 2015 for this reason.

I never had a problem with the screen brightness it just worked as normal. so it could be the different type of screen or maybe a faulty one. I know on windows 8 there is some screen brightness adjustment you can change as when i first installed that i had to adjust the brightness as it was dim but windows 7 was just normal. I no longer have the m11x as i sold it to a friend and ended up with a macbook pro as i need the battery life and plus i plan on setting up a egpu.

Finally i got around to swapping the screens so i took some before shots and after shots which i will link in a dropbox file. The screen swap was pretty straight forward to do and everything fit back perfectly and it would have gone alot easier if i connected the screen connectors the correct way round but i blame that on jet lag. Anyways the whites are white now and don't have the pink hue anymore when looking at a slight angle. The screen is nice to use now. the viewing angles are 100 x better than before. This was a worthy mod that i should have done 6 month's ago. sorry for long delay but life is hectic sometimes. Hi everyone I've had the screen for a while now just sat on my desk i just haven't had the time to fit it due to too many other projects and as i use this laptop as my main work laptop its finding a good time to do the mod when i don't need the laptop.sorry for the lack of update on this mod. Too many work commitments and other projects going on isn't leaving me much spare time to get er done.

The screen won't be here until the end of the month but i will post up some pics no probs.

Is there a way to switch the graphics on the r3 like you can on the r1?

I have just upgraded my m11x r1 to the r3 a couple of days ago, The r1 as been my main desktop since 2009 with only a hinge problem and still works just as good today. Before the m11x i used to buy a new laptop every 6 months and had 7 laptops at one point and now i just have the 2 m11x's so it has been the perfect laptop for me. If you could upgrade the parts on the r1 i would have just gone that route as the laptop still looks as good as new even after 4 years.

you can use the overclock option in the bios if you haven't already and there is also the pin mod option for the r1

I would put my name down for a r4 version today but i know its not likely going to happen. Maybe they will bring something out similar next year as i haven't heard anything about it this year.

what are the hidden menus? and can i use throttle stop with this unlocked bios ? thanks

Hi everyone I have had my m11x r1 a day before they released it in the uk in 2009 and the only problem i've had was the hinge issue which was replaced by dell and all has run perfect since. so i have been looking to buy a new laptop recently as the core duo works fine for my software but just seems to be lacking and although there was some nice laptops around i just couldn't ever decide on them and always went back to the m11x. So i decided why not just buy the m11x r3 ? I know there are newer more sleeker laptops around but nothing that can replace the m11x so now i have the m11x r3 with the i7 16gb ram and 2gb gt540m gpu which should be good for a couple more years or until they bring out the r4 version. I use the m11x as my main desktop and for alot of traveling i do and it has been perfect.
