  1. Here's a different type of Nvidia bios request for svl7 - is it possible to hack a K6000 bios so that nvidia-smi reports 3GB of memory? This is supposed to be possible with some trial and error: » Research: GeForce GTX780 to Tesla K20 - GuzTech "By determining the opcodes in the BIOS and performing a diff against the opcodes in the GTX780 BIOS, the list of possible modifications can be significantly reduced. And when the correct arguments for the opcodes are found, the card reports the correct amount of memory." Why: take a 780Ti and solder an 18K resistor across Vcc and SCLK on the eeprom and the PCI device ID will read 103A. Ready for a new Quadro bios. But the reported memory from that bios will be wrong. Is this something you might consider looking into?
  2. My wife's family is Korean and this story was brought up at the thanksgiving table. They thought the made up names were the funniest thing they've ever heard.
  3. There's a better than good chance that changing your base station in some way will have a greater impact. It could be moving the location, changing to a better model (with a better radio chipset), or adding some higher gain antennas. If your base station doesn't have dual antennas, definitely go to a model that does.
  4. The bios in the gaming cards don't have some of the features of the quadro/tesla cards, so you need to have the bios of the expensive cards loaded to use them. But, you can't load the expensive bios without changing the hardware straps that control the PCI device ID. These are non-gaming features that allow you to share the card between multiple virtual machines and things like that.
  5. The Titan is also superior for gpgpu/cuda work. The 780Ti (and the older 780) has a 1/8 clock divider for FP64 calculations. Out of the box, the Titan has this divider enabled also, but it can be restored to normal speed within the windows driver. The argument for selling might well be that the Titan is still reselling at good prices on ebay and you'll suffer less depreciation with the 780TIs. Nvidia are going to start blabbing about the 800 series soon which will devalue the resale price for the Titan as people hold off waiting for the newest thing. As a stopgap before the 800 they might even do a 780TI with 6GB which would knock down the Titan resale price even more. So if you are going to sell, you'd be wise to do it asap or keep them until the end of the year when you can get a really good bump up with a Maxwell.
