  1. Hi Klem, Is the G750JH 780m VBios you modded posted somewhere for download? Thanks in advance.
  2. Anxiously awaiting whichever genius manages to unlock the Alienware 18 bios. Able to tune about 95% of what I want using Intel XTU and the unlocked 780m VBios but still missing some things like core current limit. Good luck!
  3. Picked up the WItcher 1+2, Skyrim LE, Orcs Must Die 2, Torchlight 2, Hitman Absolution & Sleeping Dogs + DLC. Should keep me busy for a looooong while lol.
  4. You can buy a kit of thermal paste remover and surface purifier on newegg for around 4 dollars. Just buy it along with the thermal paste you want. I recommend IC Diamond 7 or Arctic MX-4. The MX-4 is significantly easier to apply but the IC-7 will probably cool a degree or two better.
  5. I love everything about the new design except the thickness of the screen bezel. Heck, I'd opt for an even sleeker design if they wanted to make one. Super flat lid with an ultra-thin bezel, super sleek metallic frame. Like the macbook of alienware's lol. A Razer without the stupid accesory keyboard and overheating. etc.
  6. I need to hire johnkiss/mr. fox to come over and overclock my unit for me. I can pay in gatorade / skittles.
  7. Haven't had any trouble with downclocks on my Alienware 18, but a lot of people have had problems on their Alienware 17's. Either way if the modified VBios solves the problem it isn't really a problem. The card overclocks very nicely and will outperform the 680m at least 15%.
  8. Alienware if only for the luxurious feel of the new chassis. Trust me once you feel the material design you won't want to use anything else.
  9. After being used to Glossy for years and hearing all the naysayers saying matte screens had lower quality color and other problems I was hesitant to try out a matte screen for the first time. Finally have one on my new laptop and I have to say I LOVE it. Not having to deal with glare is wonderful on the eyes and I haven't noticed any color quality drop off. Maybe visual artists with better trained eyes would though.
  10. When I had my XPS m1530 and Alienware m14xr1 I used a cheap Targus tote bag from Best Buy. I bought a Surface Pro for grad school a few months ago and just stick that in my backpack. Bought an Alienware 18 recently to sit on my desk, but if I'm ever brave enough to carry it around I imagine I'll have to find something far more expensive and comfy for it to sit in.
