2500k is still very, very good CPU imho. And overclocks great (haswell and ivy fails here). 4.5GHz on 2500k is enough for at least next year or two. I wouldn't change anything. Only switching to LGA 2011 can make you happy but it's expensive, and 2011 still overclocks great.

Yes. But i think you will need a new heatsinks. I don't remember... For 3940MX heatsink was with 3 heatpipes if I'm not wrong.

I'd go with Clevo/Sager. Why? Looks IMHO better, same loud level when running 100% fans. Better (aloot) NTSC 72% Matte display (it's an upgrade in some shops). Fingerprint reader and you can always upgrade it (even cooling in some models or just modify). You can't mod a loot Alienware coz of warranty.

680M is still good card. You don't have to replace it. 780M won't give you superior FPS boost. I would wait for 880M.
