Yeah, the first thing I dad was replace the 1TB Seagate 5200 RPM drive that came with my Y510P and use a Crucial M500 240gb as my primary drive after swapping out the old one. Was kind of complicated, as the laptop has no CD drive, nor another sata connector, so I had to put my SSD into an external enclosure so that I could clone the 1TB drive onto the SSD, so I wouldn't have to reinstall Windows 8 (as they didn't ship a recovery/reinstall disk) Now if I could just get a mod for this 3.05 bios i'd be able to use the AC 7260 wireless card I bought for it.

Curious, did your laptop come with bios version V3.05 and you had to downgrade? or was it an older bios so that you could flash it without the flash protection? I'm currently searching for solutions with bios ver 3.05 Florin said, you have to disable the wifi autostart utility and remove the old wifi drivers that might be conflicting.

Upgrading to 8.1 and making sure the audio drivers are up to date. My JBL speakers are absolutely booming. This laptop has been amazing (Y510P)

I have the same issue, bought a Y510P, it came with V3.05 Bios Stock. I have a Dual Band 7260 but it won't accept the card without flashing or downgrading it down to v2.07 and then running the fixes on this forum. I'm not sure what to do either.
