  1. So is there any way to modify the v3.05 BIOS to whitelist wireless cards? I have yet to actually see any posts explaining how to downgrade from v3.05 to v2.07 or below. I am at the point where I might just go ahead and remove the BIOS and edit it with a dediprog or similar tool; however, I'd really prefer not to do this, as it might require de-soldering the chip. If anyone has any tips on downgrading or some advise on how to do this within the software, I'd highly appreciate it.
  2. I have the y510p with the graphics Ultrabay in SLI mode. I am hoping to unlock the BIOS to add my already owned Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 card; however, the system shipped with BIOS v3.05. If I downgrade to v2.07 will this cause any issues for me? I am also curious if I have to change any of the graphics bios settings (I am not very familiar with "vbios"). So the second post about updating the SLI graphics was confusing to me. If I downgrade to v2.07 will this cause problems with my graphics SLI setup? If anyone has any advice or guidance, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  3. I also have a y510p system that I recently purchased and unfortunately it came stock with the v3.05 bios. I have a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 Mini-PCI card that I would love to put into this computer; however, I am hoping someone can provide more information on how to get this chip to work with my computer with the current BIOS. As I mentioned in my last post, I would be interested in downgrading it to v2.07. I am just wondering where that information is provided. Also, I understand that Lenovo updated their bios to block these modifications, but are there any bugs or problems with the older bios versions that were fixed with the v3.xx? Is it even worth it to downgrade and get the better wifi chip installed if my system will potentially just run into any buggy issues? I doubt there would be many problems once I get the drivers all sorted out, but just want to confirm with the community. Thanks
  4. I am curious if you can provide more information or a direct link to the post where this user talks about downgrading the bios to v2.07.
