Hi to all and thanks to svl7, I´ve used the vbios mod for my 680m in my alienware m17 r4, it´s been amazing, I´ve got 8110pts in 3dmark11 and 5400 in fire strike, but I wonder if it would be possible to take off the starting message from svl7 mod vbios that appears when I boot up the laptop as it make that it takes me more time to use the laptop under windows. (I hope it not to annoy to svl7 :-) Best regards.

If you have an alienware, your card is dell. But you can see your vendor with nvidia inspector or gpu-z. I have the same laptop, but with a 680m, and I did it yesterday and it´s really easy. Cheers.

R4 upgrade 880m performance issue and heating...

I have the same laptop, and I totally agree with bigchuk00. How did you fix it? As for vbios, I´ve used it with my 680m, and I´ve boosted my performance (around 8100pts in 3d mark11 and 5400 in firestrike), but in my opinion it has happened because the 680m stock clocks are really low, but it doesn´t happen with the 880m, that seems to be a overclocked card from stock, but if temperatures are low, you can use a mod vbios in order not to have throttling, but only if the temperatures aren´t high, however the temperature stock is usually high for this cards. -
Temps are really worring, I don´t want to think how it is with a 980m...

It´s really nice, but until I can see the temps... I expect they will be really high... we´ll see

Hi, I own an xmg p502 (i7 3630qm+7970m) and in general terms I´m happy with the purchase, but there are some issues that I can´t understand, for example, the gpu fan behaviour which is relly annoying it is always on and you have to use a trick to disable it. The material with it was made is really, really dust friendly, dust loves its surface. And last, the fact that you won´t upgrade the gpu because clevo doesn´t want update the bios, at least in my model (clevo p150e), but I think it will be the shame fot newer models, It just doesn´t happend with alienware, in fact, you can update m15x with a 7970m o newer gpu. But on the other hand, Clevo laptops ara ususally lighter and cheaper. I´m thinking about selling my laptop to buy a new alienware.
