  1. i once did that and i just powered it on and let it stay like that for about 10minutes and it alone by itself turned off and reseted bios if it boots but with black screen then press F2 several tmes after you see the keyboard lightup then count like 10-15 seconds and hit F9 and ENTER and then F10 Enter and that should reset the bios and everything peachy OTHER TOPIC PLEASE HELP i have a an SLI setup on my Y410p and everything runs Perect and i totally love this pc.... but is their a way to flash GPU internal BIOS to change core speeds and do a little under-volt since i have to run a Frame cap to 60 so temperatures dont go above 80Celsius... i think if i had both gpus to 925mhz at 0.9volts .... it would be the sweetspot for no heating issues:purplebananna:
  2. svl17 is their a bios mod for less voltage on cpu and gpu? i live in a place where its very warm and instead of a modded bios that has higher clocks on gpu on my y410p with the 750m, i would appreciate a lower voltage settings... i have reasearched and tried various voltages with Intel Utility and the Nvidiainspector... cpu can work really well with -100mv with turbo off... and gpu can do really well at 0.9 volts with a 925mhz core clock i wonder.... if this can be achieved... specially the gpu voltages since i have recently bought a Ultrabay GT750m5 and the temperature issues that have been posted by other people really concern me, maybe with lower voltages using the 2 gpus dont need to be capped at 60FPS thanks for your time :tears_of_joy:
  3. i too would appreciate a 3.08 modded bios, i had to update since my computer started acting erratically (it wouldnt charge randomly) and now im stuck with 3.08 ANOTHER QUESTION, WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW IF I PLAN TO BUY A y510P uLTRABAY GPU FOR SLI INTO A Y410P? CAN SOMEONE TELL ME ALL THINGS TO KNOW BECAUSE FORM WHAT I KNOW IS THIS: 1- BUY A Y510P POWER ADAPTOR (170w) 2- BUY A SECOND GRAPHICS CARD 3- MOD THE GPU BY BREAKING OR BENDING SOME KIND OF PIN.... I DONT KNOW EXACTLY ANYTHING ELSE???? PLEASE HELP
  4. is there some kind of tuning machine that on startup changes voltages to -100mv on the cpu, and GPU go to 900Mhz on the core at 0.900 volts the cpu im fine that way with turbo deactivated the reason i prefer cooling vs performance is because i live in a place where heat is a major issue, temps of 120 farenheit in the summer
  5. improvements over fan speeds? i am hoping a faster fan speeds in this bios
  6. i am too having some issues regarding the plugged mouse via wireless or wired make my computer not able to go to sleep
  7. i changed to a Intel AC7260 and use to have that lag in league of legends:06: until i started using this little program which stops the background scanning:smug: hope it works for you wopt021.zip
  8. yeah i meant i was doing my undervolting via intel XTU, but yeah been seeing that its not so stable as i would hope, not even -50mv
  9. any help with fan control? higher speed would defenitly help alot at 65Celsius
  10. hi svl17 well been trying for a while now your bios and everything great, the boot stall thingy some are experiencing seems to be solved by going to default on you bios setting and then just tweak it again. i have a question though, i saw a post where you want to Undervolt the GPU, i have been undervolting the cpu up to 125mv below, maybe and maybe it might be nice to make a negative (-) 100milivolt undervolt on the cpu? non turbo frecuencies
  11. i had the hang boot problem and it solved after i disabled the secure boot in the bios
  12. has anyone with the unlocked bios managed to modify the fan control. I wonder how is it possible to leave the fan at dust removal speed because it would be useful while gaming i dont mind my notebook noisy while gaming
  13. thanks svl17 For a great mod just want to share my story and experience so far maybe it can be usefull to someone Ok so i recently found this lenovo Y410p brand new at a great price directly from lenovo so i started reading all reviews and forums i could find to see if it was a good buy and as i was saying all forums i found including this one and to be honest this is my favorite Thanks Svl17 and on the notebook i found this list was the mayor concern of issues and how i deal with it 1. touchpad sucks, its not that bad once you get used to it and when gaming i use a wireless mouse 2. Glossy screen which i countered by buying a 19 dollar screen protector on ebay thats non glossy 3. wireless issues, i had some but not much to hate my wireless card, maybe later ill plan to upgrade 4. Overheats quite alot, forums say 90celsius is its average temps and this is for me the most important issue since it can kill the computer over time and this next list is what i did right out of the box not even turning it on 1 changed thermalpastes for liquid pro and chipset for metalpad from coollaboratory 2 changed my hard drive to a Samsung 840pro to reduce any extra heat and make it faster 3. Upgraded to Gskill 1866mhz DDR3L and works out of the box i found myself with 80 81 degrees celsius on games like borderlands 2 and final fantasy 14 after at leas 2 hours of gaming I found this forum unlocked my bios and to not make this story longer this are my results with 3dmark11 and did not mess with the GPU only what mods the unlocked bios brings (note: actual gaming makes temps at least 2 to 3 degrees higher) i personally stayed with the last option as it doesnt slow games down and temps are really good i know i made a core i3 out of a core i7 but i prefer a long lasting gaming rig than 5frames per second and 6 months later it dies... i just remember those awful HP that came out a few years ago that everyone hated 1> everything on 4cores 8 threads 4700mq turbo enabled 2> 4 cores 4 Threads and turbo off 3> 2 cores 4 threads turbo ON 4> 2 cores 4 threads Turbo OFF and this is my actual state:star:
  14. works like a charm, i just donated some beers man thanks alot
