  1. Im not real big on the power lifting stuff, but I definitely clock in some hours on a lot of body weight exercises, jogging/biking, and sparring with the punching bag.
  2. Im very excited for later this season. This part in the books was soooooo good.
  3. I recently watched most of Samurai Flamenco and liked it, its very cliche, but knows its cliche. And a very overlooked anime that I highly enjoyed was Scrapped princess, it does a very good job of sucking you into the world.
  4. Metal Gear Rising Revengeance is top notch if you have a controller, its very much a game about being a badass.
  5. I would say, a good selling point of Alienware laptops is their longevity, I bought my m14x almost 3 years ago, and have averaged at least 4-6 hours of gaming time a day, every day, with both the CPU and GPU overclocked since the first week I got it, And I have yet to see any indication that its starting to give out on me.

    Disable IGP

Yea, disabling the igp will only result in your displays not working, both your laptops screen as well as any hdmi alternatives. Although, if you are just looking to use your Nvidia card instead of your IGP, I believe you can force some 'unsupported' programs to load with the nvidia card via something like Nvidia Inspector.
  7. Everyone loves themselves a bit of Pirate Metal.
  8. Hard reset is pretty good, its kinda like unreal tournament as far as gameplay goes.
  9. Well, Definitely not in raw CPU power, however in a straight up 3Dmark Benchmark sager does offers laptops with the same CPU but with a GPU that offers a little under twice the pushing power of an AW14, and definatelly doubling all previous m14x models. I believe it was the NP8235 (i7-4700MQ, 770m GTX) if you are interested in me reference, most sites seem to offer it at the same price as an AW14.
  10. I feel like the M14x is pretty solid, however it is not very good for its price range, compared to something like a Sager notebook where you can get over double the performance at around the same price point. And the M14x doesn't offer a very strong cooling system or the customization options you would expect in the larger alienwares. Don't get me wrong, After over 2 years of overclocking, dropping, tweaking, tearing apart my m14x isn't showing any signs of slowing down, I do not believe its a particularly good notebook at the price point.
  11. Someone can correct me if im completely out of line on whether this is good or not, but over at xoticpc there's a "Sager NP8235" Rocking one of them newer I7's and a 770m for pretty darn cheap. Might be something to look into. I have no experience with it, the specs are awesome, and since its sager i assume its build quality is pretty good.
  12. I dont have a link, i just remember when researching the a10-5750 a forum somewhere in the nether said some eastern gentlemen got their hands on a couple ES models early and did some benchmarking and had stated that they had stability issues compared to the a10-4600m.
  13. Be warned that the ES models weren't designed for public use and as such do not have all the kinks worked out, they are not as stable as the regular model, and they dont overclock as high as the turbo clock speed, so locking a regular model at the max clock speed would serve you just as well. Of course, I have never heard a single person say that ES models don't do what their supposed to, or are worryingly unstable
  14. I believe that there should be an a10-5750m on the market some time soon, if not already. I believe it was 15% faster that the a10-4600m, and gains a particularly hefty percentage in when you lock it at full speed due to much higher peak clock speed. Its not a free solution but its there.
  15. I have a shoulder bag with a little extra padding I mustered with my non-existent home economics skills. I ride my bike everywhere so it makes a good electronics bag, im not going to say its drop proof as far as laptops go, but i have yet to break anything that i put in it so far XD.
  16. Hmm, to my knowledge, you cant mess with the voltage on the CPU of an M14x, but usually a majority of overheating is from the CPU. But M14x R1 is known to do very poorly in warm weather, 90 degrees under load is pretty standard, and 100 is the point where it will crash. If your overclocking anything, you may want to test without overclocks. CPU overclocking deffinatelly cranks up the temps, and as for GPU overclocking, you can leave the memory clock at stock, 90% of the gains are from the GPU core overclock, the GPU clock mostly increases temp. I have a couple suggestions. Firstly, Bios A03 Have a higher fan speed than any of the later bios, this can have a very large effect. Secondly there is a thread over here to control the fan speed(more effective with A03): http://forum.techinferno.com/hwinfo32-64-discussion/65-alienware-fan-control.html If those two things dont fix your problem, sadly you will just have to wait till its possible to re paste. Other than that all i can say is make sure there is adequate air flow and to keep it in the cooled area possible. Hope that helps
  17. Well Im not gonna say no to it haha. I can only replay GUN so many times. Its really odd that it didnt roll on over to PC though, to my knowledge the Devs are multiplat 9/10 times.
  18. You could try a couple indie games, and no, minecraft doesn't count haha. Like Bastion was great, the announcer/voice over thing alone was worth the money, not shabby at all as far as story. Limbo was really good, i felt like i got really connected to the game and the atmosphere is outstanding. Bleed was a really good completely skill based action platformer, it had a lot of "wow, that makes me a badass" moments, its a good bit of quick fun for the money. Evoland was a naustalgic game, it starts out like some of the very first RPG games, and as you play you unlock more gameplay mechanics and graphics, very cool experience. And if your into shooters more than anythign else, Natural selection is a cool, competitive shooter, its humans vs aliens, but theres a twist, one person plays it like an RTS, building the base and giving orders, very cool and unique game. I dont know, i feel like every now and then im getting drug through the mud by modern gaming, you know, where every game feels tedious, I feel that playing a handful of indie games, or just Nintendo games(old or new) really snapped me out of the funk.
  19. FPS Limiters are generally used to reduce power consumption/temperatures, Reduce stuttering(jumpy FPS no matter how high causes stuttering), and smooth out control responsiveness. I generally cap off my FPS in shooters because if my FPS goes from 30 to 60 then back down to 30 all the time, it throws my aiming off. Or in games that stutter a lot, like skyrim.
  20. You receive 1 High five for your Profile pic :)

    Good day sir.

  21. I believe it should be blowing air into the bottom vents to increase airflow. Off the top of my head, i know a lot of laptops that don't have any notable vents on the bottom, It might be beneficial in a situation like that. But im no expert on Cooling pads.
  22. Hi @albertovasilon Im not an expert on all things mists of panderia, but is your CPU at 100% Utilization? It seems like your CPU would be more than capable of handling World of warcraft. Also if im not mistake it says you have 30fps, Do you have Vsync turned on? (make sure its turned off ingame and in your nvidia control panel). Vsync will Cut your FPS down to 30 if you arent getting 60 FPS.
  23. Can it play crysis? Haha sheesh what do you even do with that much horsepower? Other than knock out the powergrid for your block.
  24. Metro 2033 works best on either high or medium in dx9 depending if you prefer graphics or performance. (750/1080 clocks 555mgt) I found that on high it would occasionally dip into mid/high 20's For FPS(26 to be exact), and averaged about 40 FPS, while medium would never dip below 30 and hovered around the 50-60 fps mark. This was with the I5 Model, so if you have an i7 model, or a 650m you will have no problem with high settings, but very high and DX11 effects are probably still too demanding in this game.
  25. Oh nice, ive been waiting for this to be playable! Thanks for the heads up!
