No I had Bios 1.10 and I found out it seems to be a problem with my school wifi network. However my laptop seems to be one of the few that have problems. I feel like the WPA2 security might be the issue. Edit: I also made the horrible mistake of installing windows 8.1.

I did a BIOS flash on y510p and installed an new Intel 7620AC card and now my connection drops every 10 minutes and its driving me insane. Help anyone?

Heat is a major problem with lenovo laptops. The y510p can barely handle the 4700mq. It already hits 80-90 degrees C. So honestly upgrading the CPU is not a good idea.

Well the fact that they make this feature to allow us to add and remove components and then dont sell any of the extra parts separately is rather dumb. I believe the only thing you can buy is the SLI card for like 200 or so.

Intel 7260HMW IEEE 802.11AC antenna compatibility

Well how would you install those antennas? There is no where you could mount them unless you want to leave the bottom of the laptop exposed. -
I honestly saw no need to update because the Y510p has no touchscreen so most of the features are useless to me.

It shouldent have a problem running considering both the new Macbook Air and Pro are running Haswell.

Well if you can manage to run the GPU at full power on battery, if its even possible, then honestly it would die within 30 minutes and that is kinda pointless for a computer on the go.

Honestly the fact that its not glass is makes it insanely annoying. There is too much friction and it can be bothersome. If only I can rip this one out and put in place one from a macbook.
