  1. Thank-you svl7. Again you save the day. You had mentioned the driver. See with my desktop I just plug the emitter in and everything installs and runs as it should. I checked the device manager and sure enough the driver for the emitter was not installed. Is what I had to do was clean reinstall the graphics driver "WITH" my 3d display and the emitter plugged in so that it would properly install the 3d vision driver. otherwise it seems to pass right over it during install. I guess to not install needless drivers if you do not have the hardware. Even after installing I still had to force the driver to start by clicking directly on the 3d vision driver with in the extracted driver folder. but now it seems to be working as intended. Now we shall see how well this GTX 780 m handles a 3d vision workout!! Thank-you Adam
  2. I have an 3D vision projector that I have been using with my desktop through HDMI for a while. Well my desktop needed a new power supply so while waiting on shipping I wanted to play a game in 3d on the projector using my MSI GT60 that has NVidia Optimus with a GTX 780M. I have searched the web and pretty much found that this is a no go since the early days of the design. I thought that I would ask here if anyone has found a decent work around for this, or is at as I have read and it just is not possible. Thank-you Adam
  3. @ svl7 Duh (face palm)... I totally forgot about that... Its been a while since I have used modified bios. I am not sure if members know about www.laptopvideo2go.com but I have been using them since the go7900 series days and have found them to be a good repository for modified NVidia drivers for laptops. @ Klem The modified bios works great The voltage is still locked out but I was not really interested in changing that anyway. I was able to boost the clock to 202 over and the memory to 330 over and snagged a score of 8795 on 3dmark Fire Strike. up from 8426. So a very nice increase. Again thank-you every one for your help. If it is ok with you Klem and if svl7 wants to add the modified bios to the repository he can. it did not even require a -6 switch during the install. The hardware strings were identical. Again Thank-you Adam
  4. GK104stock.zip OK It only let me attach it as a zip file. (it kept saying invalid file when trying to select the rom file.) I hope I did this right. Anyway here you are. If you need anything else let me know. Thank-you Adam
  5. Hi I have a MSI gt60 2od-026us and downloaded the GTX780m bios as listed and followed the instructions for a dos flash. The flash went through good with following all the steps properly with the -6 option. Well after I reboot into windows, within GPU-z or the device manager the Intel HD 4600 is listed but the GTX 780m is listed as a default windows 8 display card. I try reinstalling the NVidia drivers and they cannot find any NVidia hardware. Tried rebooting a couple of times with no luck with finding the NVidia card. even after removing the drivers in the control panel. So I reboot and re-flash back to the stock bios. The card is immediately found. I have tried this twice with the same results. Any Ideas.... ? If you need more information let me know. If you need screen shots I can re-flash back to the modded bios again and take pics. Thank-you Adam
  6. Hello everyone; I appreciate all the awesome help. Even though NVidia has had there way with this, (is anyone surprised....... anyone?) I still may upgrade the screen as the GTX 780m is more than capable of generating more than 60 FPS in just about every game I have played and without vsync on I sometimes get severe screen tearing. so anyway at least I know that the screens are available. I probable could not find them because I was searching for 3d vision certified screens. LOL. I tell ya I am bout done with NVidia though. After the test results of the new AMD R290 and R290x and with all the issues I have had with NVidia drivers as of late I am seriously thinking of changing my colors of choice to red!!!
  7. Sorry the reply got cut off.. Is what I was saying is that I have only had the removal of the motherboard repair only work once but it is definitely worth a shot if the other thing do not work. Best of luck.
  8. Strange and maybe personal question.... Did you purchase the GT70 with a credit card. If so you may have extra warranty rights from your credit or bank card if purchased that way. If so I would call the card issuer and check into it. if not try reseating the CPU, memory and graphics card. I have brought more than one computer back to life after doing this when I ran my PC repair shop. Sometimes even just removing the motherboard from the chassis and reinstalling it can bring a machine back to life although I
  9. Thank-you for the link xtasker, but I guess I should have clarified.... Is what I am looking for is a 15 inch panel. I now kinda wish I had gotten the GT70 instead of the GT60 as I have been able to find 17 inch panels but have not had much luck with locating a 15 inch 120Hz LCD panel.
  10. I know that Asus had 120 HZ 3d Vision capable screens for there 17 inch notebooks a couple of years ago. I now have an MSI GT60 with the NVidia GTX780m. I was wondering if anyone knows of a supplier that sells just the lcd panel that is capable of running at 120 HZ or greater that I could just swap into the bezel so that I can use my laptop with my 3d vision kit with out hooking it up to my 3d projector. I know 3d gaming has decreased in popularity a lot. But after 3d gaming for the last couple of years I have gotten to really like it. Even as it is a 60 HZ refresh rate is so retro in my opinion. If MSI offered a screen on there GT60 with a faster refresh rate I would not have thought twice about it. In my opinion that is the only complaint I have about this laptop. (well other than the itty bitty mouse track pad. LOL) Thank-you in advance. Adam
  11. I have a few modern (Samsung, HP, and MSI) laptops and a dell tablet. Of all the money that I have spent on these "toys" I have found that I use my MSI GT60 the most and have found it to be the best value per dollar. Although I have owned a Lenovo Think-pad T510 in the past and even though it may not have had the best performance value per dollar it BY FAR had the best build quality of any laptop that I have owned.
