well im not really sure if I need to flash original maybe you can help. I am trading my y500 for my buddys desktop computer. He said he plans on taking out the ultrabay gpu and addign an SSD and to remove windows 8 and install windows 7. Can he do that without risking anything since the bios are modded or does removing 8 and adding 7 have nothing to do and all should be good?

that could be a good idea to try

I was looking online and could not figure this out...does anyone know if it is possible with my lenovo Y500 to connect up to three monitors not including the monitor on the laptop screen so three separate monitors so i can really get the full battlefield 4 effect:glee:. Specs Lenovo Y500 Gt 650m SLI

i went to flash my 650m ultrabay on my y500 and it said Firmware image PCI subsystem ID (17AA.3970) does not match adapter PCI subsystem ID (17AA.3972). What does that mean and how can i fix it? Edit: Nevermind i figured it out!

i will agree the more ram the better...that's what I always say. I have the lenovo y500 and im thinking about upgrading it to 16gb of ram since i use Photoshop, illustrator, and vector works usually simultaneously.

I got my lenovo y500 from newegg for only $800. It has a nvidia geforce 650 SLI intel i5 and runs games great. It also arrived in a few days. -
I have been hearing that SLI is not working with windows 8.1 have they said anything about a fix or is someone working on a fix in the forum?

if you stop background processes that are not needed while you play games that will improve overall power and raise FPS. I use tune up utilities and set it to turbo mode and it turns off all unnecessary programs to improve speed and free up memory.

i have a coolmaster cooling pad which has three fans and you can place them anywhere you would like, which helps a lot since i can put one fan over under the air intake and one under the gpu and the other the cpu. It was relatively cheap also I believe only about $20 and can pick it up at best buy. I have had mine for about a year and it still runs great especially for when I am gaming.
