Svl7: The update for the 750M ultrabay gpu vbios is out now to support 8.1: NVIDIA GeForce GT750M Second VGA BIOS Update for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) - IdeaPad Y410p, Y510p Can we get a modded version of it as well? -
While I'm not normally the kind of person that runs away from new tech just because of a few bugs, this is what I did because I'm just not in for the headache.
-
haha, alright, that makes a lot more sense

I got my 7260 in and it's a huge improvement so far with BT/Wifi connectivity issues being non-existent.
-
I don't make it a habit of needlessly flashing the BIOS on any machine so I'm not going to do so for now. However, other people have already confirmed that in the unlock thread if I'm not mistaken.

Does anyone know how to remove this LCD's bezel without taking the whole laptop apart? I want to wrap the bezel in something matte (3M Scotchprint 1080 Matte Black more than likely) because the glossiness is driving me nuts. I've searched around and the only thing I can find is the hardware repair manual which says you have to strip the whole machine down to get it off. Anyone have any ideas?

Y500 customization(and other PC's) firger print on the case fix

I really REALLY hate the gloss around the LCD, I would love something matte & pre-cut to fit around the screen. The Carbon shell is nice too. -
Frustrtating flickering in SLI with v-sync enabled
phantomapollyon replied to bonzobv's topic in Lenovo
I see this flickering in various places in certain games myself, FFXIV for example. The best thing to do is to enable "Adaptive" vysnc and play in Windowed(border-less if available) and that generally eliminates it completely. I have reported this to NVIDIA and they are aware of it happening on some setups at the very least. I will mention however that I never got the flickering on 326.80 but have been seeing it ever since, so it certainly appears to be a driver issue. -
Intel 7260HMW IEEE 802.11AC antenna compatibility
phantomapollyon replied to t0astm0nkey's topic in Lenovo
I actually just ordered this same card tonight for mine after getting bios/vbios unlocked and ready to play ball, I will let everyone know how it goes I will be testing 5Ghz for N and not AC but it should answer the question on functionality at least. -
My new 7260 is on it's way and the BIOS is modded and ready to roll, I'll report back here and let you guys know how it goes.

Lenovo Y410p / Y510p - unlocked BIOS / wlan whitelist mod / vbios mod
phantomapollyon replied to svl7's topic in Lenovo
edit - nvm -
Here's hoping they can make a 120Gb one avaliable soon. I'd love to run the OS on that and just use the 1Tb for storage
-
I wish you could replace the glossy bezel with a matte one as well, that's the one thing I don't like about it.
-
I'd like to see this as well, I'll be doing both of mine this weekend hopefully.

I've had a lot of improvement with the latest NVIDIA beta drivers, have you given those a shot?
-
I have far less issues with this once I run most games in Windowed(border-less preferably) on my 510p w/ SLI 750's. The newest NVIDIA drivers have also cleared up the strange auto brightness issues on battery incase anyone is wondering

I'm having the same issues with this wireless card, I will be replacing it ASAP once I get the BIOS unlocked and all per this post.
