  1. I simply meant "clean" as in "stock". Preferably without Windows key. No biggie either way though, as I'm just glad to have gotten rid of the whitelist, which was my main goal. I'm actually a little worried that if I get the 1.xx version, I'll just end up bricking it, as I like to tinker.
  2. I assume that this BIOS file has no Windows key attached to it? I need a BIOS without one, as I tend to frequently uninstall/reinstall different versions of Windows, and the built in Windows key tends to get in the way.
  3. At this point, there's no way to modify 3.05 and no way to downgrade from it.
  4. I'm guessing you're in the wrong folder in the command prompt. The CMD window will start in C:\WINDOWS\system32 by default. In my case, I created an fptw64 folder in the root of the C:\ with all the files I needed, then in command prompt, to get there, I simply have to type: cd\fptw64 Once you're in the right folder, it shouldn't have any problem recognizing the fptw64 command. - - - Updated - - - Unfortunately, it seems that the 3.05 BIOS has write protection on it that prevents custom BIOS files from being flashed. A number of us have tried (and failed) to get around this. I'm still hanging on for hope that a solution will come, but I'm not holding my breath. Also worth mentioning, once I flashed a 3.05 BIOS, I was unable to flash back to an older BIOS file.
  5. There's a BIOS update for the ultrabay card that should enable SLI again. Even with that and the latest drivers, my SLI is kind of spotty. Works for some things, not for others. Your mileage may vary. NVIDIA GeForce GT750M Second VGA BIOS Update for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) - IdeaPad Y410p, Y510p
  6. That's kind of what I was worried about. It's not like I absolutely NEED a wireless AC card, but it feels like a waste of my router's potential. Maybe I'll have to look into downgrading my BIOS to the modifiable one (if possible), then focusing my efforts on figuring out how to remove the Windows key from the old version instead.
  7. I had tried the same thing with the 3.05 file you provided and am getting the same result as you. Do you think it's the 3.05 file that is causing the "Error 280" or is it the method we're using to try to modify and flash the file? I would love to be able to install the Intel 7260 AC adapter, as it's supposed to play nicer with our hardware than the broadcom one does. Worst case scenario, the Broadcom AC card sells for ~$90-$100 on ebay, which isn't too terrible. Regardless, thank you for providing the 3.05 file. I was able to install another version of Windows without the hard coded Windows key getting in the way, which is very much appreciated.
