    Disable IGP

Is there anyway to disable IGP in y510p without interfering with the 750m, this could be through the modded bios or windows.
  2. Yea, i cleared out my restore points not too long ago, so i may just have to reinstall windows
  3. This has happened for a while now, so i don't exactly remember. I'm on windows 8 and i have a lenovo y510p so my os is on my 1tb hdd and i have a 24gb ssd( i uninstalled express cache cause i could never get it set up right). Now what've noticed is when i try to shutdown the computer, after a little while the computer crashes and restarts and gives me this error in the dump file: Note this is from whocrashed On Thu 10/3/2013 4:08:13 AM GMT your computer crashed crash dump file: C:\windows\Minidump\100313-22093-01.dmp This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x54106) Bugcheck code: 0x9F (0x4, 0x12C, 0xFFFFFA800CF0B040, 0xFFFFF880009FA810) Error: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE file path: C:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System company: Microsoft Corporation description: NT Kernel & System Bug check description: This bug check indicates that the driver is in an inconsistent or invalid power state. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver that cannot be identified at this time. Also i have an update that isn't installing for some reason and i'm not sure why, this may be the cause of it, here is the windows log: Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 on Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 for x64-based Systems (KB2840632) Installation date: ‎10/‎3/‎2013 1:55 PM Installation status: Failed Error details: Code 80073712 Update type: Important A security issue has been identified in a Microsoft software product that could affect your system. You can help protect your system by installing this update from Microsoft. For a complete listing of the issues that are included in this update, see the associated Microsoft Knowledge Base article. After you install this update, you may have to restart your system.
  4. Hmm odd, expresscache keeps giving me ecbase.dll cannot be located when i try and install it.
  5. Has anyone had issues where their y510p hangs when shutting down or restarting as in the laptop is stuck on the "shutting down" or "restart" screen. The only way i was able to shut mine off was by holding down the power button.
  6. Do you have another link because that link redirects to an amazon page.
  7. Honeslty I agree with him, unless you have some specific reasons for 16 gb of ram, 8gb is the way to go.
  8. Has anyone been able to figure out how to switch either manually or automatically between the 4600m and 750m when the laptop is unplugged. It seems that whenever anything graphically intensive is run the laptop relies on the 4600m instead of switching to the 750m, it makes sense power saving wise, but if i don't care about saving power it can be quite frustrating.
