I have an MSI GT60, which is a pretty hefty laptop. I put my laptop into a neoprene sleeve and the sleeve into my backpack. The sleeve prevents the other contents of my backpack from damaging the laptop.

The MSI gt60 barebones might have hybridpower, which draws additional power from the battery if the power supply isn't enough. Not the ideal solution, but its something you could probably fit in your budget. I would recommend the 780m if you want to play games comfortably in 4 years.

Keep in mind that if you want to run windows on a Mac you will also have to buy a windows license which will add to the price. If gaming is important, I would recommend just getting a windows PC from the get go. The MSI gs70 and Gigabyte p35k/p34g are some laptops that might have some of that macbook appeal.

Don't get Origin. Either get a cheaper Clevo/Sager from a reseller like XoticPC or LPC-Digital (same chassis as Origin) or get the Alienware. Origin is just overpriced imo.
