  1. ahh ok so it is a driver issue. thanks for the help guys!
  2. the driver doesnt crash. i set my core to 1045MHz. it would be stable. i played BF4 for 2 hours at that clock using gpu-z to create a log, and my core clock never dropped from 1045MHz. just recently though it wont hold 1045 anymore. its all over the place ranging from 850-1045. i created another log and it shows as soon as the TDP exceeds 100% the clock drops. i never had this issue before. now if i set my power target limit in nv inspector to 146% the problem goes away and it holds the overclock. i never used to have to touch the power target setting, i would always just leave it at 100% and never any throttling. what could be the cause of this ?
  3. ok thank you that worked. prioritize will now stay checked off. next issue is why is my overclock not stable anymore? it throttles whenever the TDP goes over 100%? it never use to do this
  4. ive been using nv inspector for awhile to overclock my 780m without any problems. I always checked the prioritize temperature check box and never had any issues up until about 2 days ago. now for some reason whenever I apply my overclock the prioritize temp check box unchecks itself. ive tried different drivers, and different versions of NVidia inspector and it still unchecks it self. any ideas as to why? any help would be great. thanks
  5. I'm running the A04 bios which apparently removes the throttle? I'm going to have to make a log using gpu-z to see what's going on. Probably going to end up repasting as I plan to run the modded vbios. Gotta keep these temps under control.
  6. Ok after work tonight ill open it up and make sure the heatsink is tight.
  7. So after about 2 hours of gaming payday 2 my gpu reached 92c. Time for a repaste? Or 780m replacement as well as heatsink? I've had the unit for just over 2 weeks
  8. My AW17 is fully stock. I just want to make sure it is performing properly. I've got a firestrike score of about 4800. Also after about 2 hours of bf3 and tomb raider my max gpu temp is 78c. Can anyone confirm if this is normal?
  9. This is my highest score in firestrike NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4800MQ,Alienware Alienware 17 Is this ok? Should I be scoring higher? Everything is stock settings with the latest nvidia driver
  10. So far all seems good. Ran fire strike everything stayed nice and cool. Also scored higher then before. But for some reason my HDMI out still isn't working at all. What could the issue be ?
  11. Ok thanks. I will check all those things and make sure all is well!
  12. got my new m17 last week. straight out of the box my HDMI out does not work. today I had the motherboard replaced and its still not working. this same external monitor works no problem on my R3. what could the issue be ?
  13. hey guys, im new to this forum, i have an AW 17 with a GTX 780m, i7 4800, 16GB of ram, 750GB HDD in raid0 with a 64GB cache drive. i got my AW 17 as a replacement for my broken down R3 which i loved. ive got mixed feelings about my new AW17. the performance is awesome for sure but the lack of ports bothers me. im missing that esata port my R3 had. im also missing the media keys my R3 had. one thing i do love though is the cooling. So far it runs nice and cool(compared to my R3 anyways). one thing i am very disappointed with is the fact that straight out of the box my HDMI in/out port is dead. im having the motherboard replaced tomorrow. is there anything i should pay attention to to make sure the tech is doing everything correctly? im a little worried something else may break after this.
