Can't thank you enough SVL7. Being limited to 2.4Ghz WiFi as a serious downside to a laptop that otherwise blows me away. BIOS flash worked great, just ordered a new card. I threw a little money at your new laptop, thanks again!!!

Bring Red Dead Redemption To PC Petition

I can totally get onboard with this! The game was a little better than okay for me, but the nightmare expansion was absolutely awesome! Brings back memories of hunting down the horses with a friend. -
What is the consensus on required power adapter for SLI
Superjoe replied to Uberperson's topic in Lenovo
I'd be interested to know this as well. Cooler Master has a universal 120w on Amazon (Amazon.com: Cooler Master NA 120 Universal Laptop Power Adapter (RP120-S19AJ1-US): Computers & Accessories). I haven't found a universal for more than 120w. -
As said, with the ageing chipset I wouldn't go all out on a 6gbps drive. But there is another thread in the forum with a modified A08 BIOS that is supposed to give some good speeds. No matter what an SSD will improve the experience of using the laptop.

I was just given an M14xr1. It was allegedly in rough shape and running like crap. Updated the BIOS from A03 to A08, reinstalled windows and it runs like a champ. I don't do an intense amount of gaming but it plays the Neverwinter MMO maxed out just fine. Still one of my favorite laptop designs and I like it more than the new 14.

Have you updated your BIOS? I mean it is probably not the answer but I was just given the same laptop and the fan worked like garbage. The BIOS was on A03! I updated to A08 and it vastly improved the fan operation. Hope it helps.

I don't see anything mentioned about LOSING features with this mod. Does anything not work afterwards? I would just really like to upgrade to a newer Wi-Fi card. Also, if I have zero interest in OC'ing my 650 SLI, can I ignore the flash for the Ultrabay card? Thanks!
