I believe according to chmod1337 in a reply to me he said the BIOS mod posted works for the y500 750sli no problem. the 2.04 BIOS posted is a Modded version of the stock 2.04 bios unlocking locked features (make a back up! if you decide to flash) because it does void your warranty with lenovo and you'll lose your Win8 Slic license.

I dont believe installng windows 7 voids your warranty, because the WIN8 license is built into the BIOS. I swapped the HD out simply because it spins at 5400rpm and I am a gamer. I believe just flashing the bios to something other then stock files from there website will void the warranty. Lenovo has already released the y500 caddies and according to other y500 owners the y510 graphics caddy works also with the y500 best of luck with your purchase hope this helped. I got mine from there official website but got it on sale, on memorial for 850$ after taxes 980$, it was the 750 configuration, I suggest if you cant find a on sale one threw the outlet you just wait for a sale, they are having a great back to school sale right now. I check out the website often just to piggy back on my buy see if I got best deal, and they are always having sales especially during holidays so if you can I would hold out for one of them. I suggest buying direct rather then other websites ie (tigerdirect,newegg) simple cause you have a 30 day Easy return if your not happy with it and 1year warrenty direct threw them. Also one of the main operators of this website svl7 has done some awesome work on unlocking the bios for the y500 tested and true (def throw him a few $ for the work he did) so you can add a different wifi card and overclock it. I am in college work for a small cpu company doing hardware repairs so I am on the go a lot, and this laptop is great. Took a while to get used to the keyboard, and the touchpad is a little quirky but I use it mainly for gaming SC2, Diablo, CS:Go, League etc. and it handles them all very well, plus the slots to add another graphics card. In addition is slim (looking) and by design. Personally its preference, and I would love to have Razors (but $ ukno) and I see why people get MSI or Alienware but just tooo bulky for me. Between from my preferences of the Samsung gamer 7 and Toshiba Q, this laptop espically by price was the perfect fit. Again its all up to you at the end and remember if you purchase threw Lenovo website you can return it FULL refund as long as its with in 30Days. So how can you lose?

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone had any information on the ACER 5475PG, it has intel HD, and Nvidia graphics on board but you can only use 1 at a time. Anyone know if anyone has worked or if there is a bios flash available?

I hear you thought I have a netgear wdna3300 that is dual band 5ghz band and 2ghz band and it wont allow 300mbps at high frequencies (5ghz - N ), so my card only picks up the low 54mbps G band. It really holds back the laptop especially while gaming. I really dont understand why lenovo went with the card they did as the stock set-up other wifi card are the same if price with greater capabilities.

Depends on if the BIOS is unlocked or not cause Lenovo y500 has a whitelist of wifi cards which means only select card will work when booting otherwise the bios will lock you out. If your y500 is unlocked i think you should be able to add any wifi card that fits the slot, but dont quote me on that.

Thanks Re-Reading the forums rules instead of skimming them this time. Just bought a lenovo y500 / 750m and want to unlock this bios mainly cause of the whitelist on the cards. Laptop has such potential but the stock wifi really holds it back....Does anyone know who is the actual creator of the modded bios? Definitely want to throw him some brew/bojanglin cash for the mod. I've seen the original thread by sv17, but others are taking claim for it on lenovos forums and 1 other guy on a Russian forum... I bought mine online on memorial day 2013 which came with v2.04 bios and with WiMaX but it say drivers are missing another big difference is my y500 has the nvidia 750m.... Bios is still locked up though....

Anyone know how I can get these files? I will gladly donate, I just cant seem to find this anywhere and when I try the links it says i dont have premissions. Anyone can help me greatly apperciated, thanks : )
