  1. Over on the guru3d reviews for graphics cards, they often bump up the voltage by +100mv, so 0.1V when overclocking, which would make it 1V for my card. I'd go for the 1V P0 state (if I'm right in thinking that's the gaming state). I don't mind if you don't do the 1V BIOS though, because I'll probably just save it for a rainy day or when my card is near the end of it's useful life for gaming. I'll leave it up to you if you want to provide that one, you've already done loads to unleash the power of my card. :-)
  2. Just tested in some gaming for 20mins or so (F1 2012, completely maxed out on all options, including 16QCSAA and 64fps avg, 55minimum). Temperatures stabalised at 58degC, after hitting 61degC (I guess the fans kicked up one notch, but still cooler & sucks 20W less than my 20% overclocked GTX 560M!). About that vBIOS with the added voltage you mention. I'm pretty sure that could help me eek out some more Mhz, but I don't really need it at the moment. Max Voltage on my card is 0.925V, what would you recommend as a potential voltage for a modded vBIOS? I'm thinking no more than 1v max? If it's real easy & quick for you to mod my vBIOS for increased voltage, then might be good to have that stored somewhere on my computer for when games don't get enough fps, or if I'm bored or curious!! What do you reckon, would it shorten the life of the GPU do you think? Do you think it shortens it when just overclocking it to the levels I already have, without the voltage increase? (I don't think it does if temps are good, but I don't know loads on this).
  3. OK, my final update on my OC limits: I've reached them! 950Mhz core/1000Mhz Memory. 3DMark11: P5519, GPU 5534. (314.22 drivers). 62degC. So, that's about 6% shy of a stock 680M, which is not bad for gaming at 1600x900! :-) Gonna back it down to 900Mhz & check some stability in gaming. Thanks again, you should be able to get that beer now, although as the previous guy said, don't know the prices in Belgium!! :-) http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6774748
  4. svl7, this is awesome, I've flashed the modded vBIOS you did, and now I can overclock past the +135 limit. I've OCed it to +300 on the core (so 900Mhz Core), and OCed memory to 1000Mhz. Got a 3DMark11 overall P score of 5301, and got 5277 GPU score. Temperatures not changing from stock, not going over 61degC - awesome! :-) Stock GPU score was 3626, so that's an increase in performance of 46%. Thanks a million, I think I'll make a donation to you after lunch! :-) Here's 3DMark result link: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6774267
  5. +1 for M17xR3 not waking up from sleep! Apart from that I love my M17xR3, keyboard, touchpad, cooling all excellent. I had the GTX 560M, but I've switched it out for a GTX 670MX a couple of days ago. 4498 GPU score in 3DMark11, with a core OC of +135, and a memory overclock with frequency 1000Mhz. Temperature doesn't go over 61degC at 100% sustained load. Using the same heat sink that came with the GTX 560M, they're both 75W GPU's, but the 670MX runs a bit cooler anyway. svl7 created a modded vBIOS for it, that will unlock the +135 core software overclock limits, so will be trying that soon to see how high the core will go at stock voltages. Really happy with this upgrade to 670mx, good value upgrade, have to sacrifice Optimus though.
  6. It's possible the OP has abandoned this thread now, but I'll let you know my best experience for value gaming notebooks. I snapped up a great deal here in the UK on a refurbished M17xR3 from the Dell Outlet. They come with warranties, and are as good as new apart from maybe a few cosmetic scratches or something, but they're a lot cheaper than the new laptops. Just keep an eye on the Dell outlet sites & snap up one of those great deals. Seems like they appear in batches. Sometimes there will be none, and then the next day there may be loads to choose from. The pricing of the laptops on there is not a good guide of the usefulness of the specs (they don't always seem to use logic), make sure you check the specs carefully before buying. Excellent cooling systems, and good build quality on those Alienware.
  7. Thanks for adding my card svl7. One question though. You just said that you've added the 3GB Clevo 670MX, I'm assuming that that's the same card and is compatible with my card, the one that said it was a DELL card in HWINFO? Did you make any changes to the vBIOS apart from unlocking the OC limits?
  8. Hi svl7, I think it's great the work you're doing to unleash the potential of these Kepler cards, they seem to OC really well! Do you have an unlocked vBIOS for GTX 670MX 3GB (vBIOS 80.04.58.00.03 - described as DELL card in HWINFO)? I've just installed the card into my M17xR3, and it runs really cool (61degC) with a +135 core OC, but really looking to unlock the frequency limits on this card. Not particularly interested in a voltage mod, although might consider having that in my back pocket too for when games become too hard to run in a few years! Forgot to include my vBIOS in my previous post: GK104.zip
