  1. @svl7, I noticed that the Dell website has an A11 BIOS update from the M18XR2 available, any news of an unlocked version or what the A11 even changes from A10? Thanks for your response.
  2. The issue with SSDs in raid comes down to actually maxing out the SATA speeds. Since most newer laptops including M18x's support SATA 3 which has a maximum theoretical transfer rate of 6Gb/s = 750MB/s, and RAID 0 promises up two 2x the performance of a single drive(if 2 drives are used), there is definitely a potential for 2 speedy drives(500 MB/s+ read/write) speeds, to actually saturate the connection and hit a ceiling. Now of course this is all theoretical. Real world mileage may vary and your results will probably be a bit different.
  3. My 7970's sit about 5 degrees C apart at idle. When both are stressed, the difference shrinks to about 2-3 degrees C between the two CPUs. Will reapply TIM soon to see if we can get this difference erased.
  4. I'm sure that 580's are indeed overclockable, the issue of how good they are at overclocking and pushing them to the limit, is a topic for another thread. You should be able to alter the clocks using MSI Afterburner(google it and you can find a link for the download). As always, be sure to start small 5% CORE overclock and test judiciously. The best tests are real-world, so pick a game or two you play often apply the OC and launch it, play for 15-30 minutes, if all is good, bump up the OC. I wouldn't touch the voltage controls until you are a bit more experienced. Just my 2 cents.
  5. Try adjusting the options in the BIOS as the above posts suggest, I believe the option is called "USB Powershare". Give that a try and let us know whether it works.
  6. Good luck with your overclocking efforts, I'll be picking up a 3920xm or 3940xm soonish and am currently trying to flash my recently received M18xR2 A10 to modified A10, downgrading to A03 did not work so I am going to try the DOS approach.
