  1. Hi, I'm also trying to figure this out. In my case it's to fit a graphics card in my HP elite 8300 ultra-slim PC with MXM slot (although I'm very likely to encounter a bios whitelist-wall). The guy you found on youtube also has a website (with some very cheesy copywriting), there's an option to preorder, but the site hasn't been updated in months: http://www.sourninja.com/dualwield/ It seems to me the project is dead. I found some old PCB design on the notebookreview forum http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/lets-figure-out-how-to-convert-internal-mxm-connector-an-external-pci-e-x16-box.407071/page-11 The autor of the design warned there are some flaws in it - i think he said that his card would function only with default windows drivers, while delivering very low performance. You'll need a freeware program called FreePCB to view the design. I think the best option is to print a PCB locally, if we are able to get a working design. I'm thinking about contacting my friend who is electrical engineer to ask him to design a new PCB for me. I just need to know which pin connections are needed to make it work. Did you find any datasheets for MXM and PCIe pinouts? PCB adapter MXM.7z
  2. I can confirm that win 8.1 has better resources management. My setup is DELL E6220 + PE4C 1.2 + GTX750 + Win 8.1 (8GB ram). And it's plug and play. No need for any tweaks or Setup 1.x. I experienced the error 12 under win7.
  3. For me the BFBC:2 was never beaten by the latter titles. It just felt more coherent and balanced. I can't wait for the third incarnation.
  4. Im from EU and I agree the postage price is high. Although at least DHL is quick enough: it took about 8 days from purchase for the PE4C to arrive. The build quality is good enough for me - board is made of two connected PCB plates which makes it more stable on the desk. Some plastic protection like we see at EXP would be nice though. The cable isn't meant for heavy usage, I'm certainly going to reinforce it with tape. I'm not afraid I would break it by accident, I'm just not sure about the long-term durability. No jack or HDMI connector is present - you get exactly what you see on bplus website. One detail I noticed - on the back side of the board, there are two connectors for the data cable - one says PCIe-x1 and the other PCIe-x2. I din't have chance to test the performance, since I'm still struggling with the error 12.
  5. Trying to get my first e-gpu setup working. I chose to go for low cost postable gaming system - my old HP 2540p + PE4C 1.2 + nVidia GTX750 + HP DPS-240MB-1 small form factor PSU. GTX750 seems to me ideal for e-gpu purposes. It´s power consumtion peak in load around 80 watts enables to utilize small PSUs. But it seems to take too much adress space - laptop hangs at boot with express card inserted and won´t boot at all. When I insert while running windows 8, I get the error 12. I saw other people in this thread to get egpu working with 2540p, so I must be doing something wrong. Quick look at the mess in progress:
  6. I would sell my borderlands 2 code or exchange for some other title if anyone is interested
  7. I like the simple design and ergonomics of my sidewinder x5. Bit expensive when new, but I got mine at ebay for bargain.
