  2. installed in my y500, works fine. bluetooth is a little buggy, but was buggy with the original wifi too O_o
  3. I just upgraded from an intel 6300 card in my desktop to the ASUS PCE-AC66, and it works great except when I start my computer there are networks avaialble but it takes 1-2min to be able to join a network automatically or manually. Any ideas? This problem wasn't present with the intel 6300. I am running the latest drivers as well.
  4. Has anyone tried or know if it is possible to switch the drive inside of the optical bay caddy that comes stock? Since the 750m ultrabay addon seems to be a bit of a unicorn I wouldnt mind putting in an bluray drive.
  5. I've tried an intel 6235, and a 7260 both have ok signal but still lower than my y470p with a 6250 and the old lady's acer that has a 6250 as well and my desktop that has a 6300, so crappy antenna placement or the brushed aluminum maybe hinders the signal.
  6. I have one on order, and yes it should work.
  7. Has anyone seen a modded 2.03 bios for the Y470P? I'm running a whitelist intel 5250 in it at the moment but want to upgrade it to an intel 7260. Thanks
  8. Try enabling "Wmm" on your network card, enabling it also enable intels throughput enhancement. I received best results when I was connected to netgear routers, and negligible diff on linksys routers enabling it. - - - Updated - - - 802.11a is 54/108mbps on the 5ghz band
  9. Mine has been fine, did you buy it off ebay? 90% of the time the ones on ebay are es cards (engineering samples) which is fine most of the time some are junk, I had an es 6300 that would only get 1mbps on the 5GHz band.
  10. I agree, that why I ordered an intel ac-7620 </ip>
  11. with my intel 6235 speedtest gave me Speedtest.net - My Results and pingtest gave me http://www.pingtest.net/result/83313830.png
  12. 2.04 mod works great, sportin an intel 6235 now, rockin on the 5ghz band. Need to buy an intel ac-7260 now
  13. Any eta on the 2.04 whitelist removal? - - - Updated - - - no it is not unlocked, I tried 3 different cards, with no luck.
  14. On top of that to fully take advantage of a better wireless card, you need to have a descent router, and service provider. Better wireless cards won't give you latency and speeds that your isp and router can't provide.
  15. I'm still hopin SVL7 can work his magic on my 2.04, this intel 2230 is drivin me batty
  16. It was the card reader drivers
  17. I'm not a firm believer you'll notice the improvement in games, unless you're a "hardcore gamer" but if you were a "hardcore gamer" you wouldn't have bought a Lenovo (more budget minded casual gamer imo) The high end intel card have been good to me, consistent driver updates and long life support. I'm not a believer the killer series will be supported for as long as an intel card (unless the killer series gets more mainstream) heck the intel 4965agn is still supported and gets driver updates. I also find the intel cards "usually" have a better price point. (the intel 2230 is by far the worst of the entry level intel wifi adapters I have ever used)
  18. Gotta unlock your bios first, I'd either go Intel 6230/6235 or the Intel Wireless-AC 7260 personally.
  19. finally got my new Y500 in, and reverted to windows 7, but I have 3x "Base System Devices" that don't have drivers, anyone have a clue?
