Don't let Asus do it, do it yourself. Very, very, easy and intuitive. Just take your time, use a guide.- 38 replies

First just replace the fan and put some good new thermal grease on the CPU and NB and dust out the heatsink. The new fan you'd want is the Forcecon DFS541305MH0T “F8U5” fan. Google it, they be bought new for less than $20. It's the 17-fin fastest fan you can put into the laptop. Good luck, it should be that simple.- 38 replies

The stock fan in your laptop is most likely a Delta KDB05105HB “7F36”fan. You can replace it with a more powerful fan, which came by default on the Asus G51j and vx laptops. This is the model number of the upgraded fan; Forcecon DFS541305MH0T “F8U5". Google that and you can find it for cheap. The Delta is a 13 fin fan, the Forcecon is a 17 fin fan. Moves more air but fits right into your existing heatsink and plugs into the motherboard for power.- 38 replies
